OK for 35 dollars a night plus the resort fee of 4.50 I wasn't expecting the the Hilton. Here is my honest assessment of my stay.

The hotel is one of the older ones in the area and there are just somethings you cannot fix with a coat of paint and and new carpet.

The room I had was clean all in all. Some mildew was found around the shower but I was looking for it. The beds double size were clean, no critters and the blue light was negative. I felt comfortable walking around barefoot on the carpet and didn't mind taking a shower. The TV has some Direct TV channels but not all would play picture and sound. Local news, weather, as well as Cartoon channel and nick for the kids and big kids.

The painting and repairs look like mine. The wall mounted AC kept the room cool but the staff shuts it off when they clean the room. Water was hot for a shower and the ice machines were full and clean.

The pool was typical seventies style oval but effective for cooling off and tiring the kids if needed.

Laundry room was very hot with little breeze and was 2 dollars a load to wash and 2 dollars a load to dry.

Some things to think about when looking in the area that the hotel can't control. On weekends and holiday I drive is hangout for many youth in the Orlando area. I watched as the Orlando police make arrest after arrest for drug possession, drunk driving, and other infractions in the area around the hotel. Remarkably the Motel itself seemed pretty calm, and seemed to be occupied mainly by families.

The staff was generally friendly, but some seemed to have problems understanding English. Just something to be aware of when you spend 5 minutes trying to explain that the phone in your room doesn't work and ther person is nodding but you can see they don't understand.

Oh yes the room phone was dead and stayed that way despite repeated request to repair it. But with cell phones it wasn't that big of an issue. I just like hard lines in the event you need to call 911 since it is normally easier to find you if you use a regualr phone.

I would stay there again and it gave me what I wanted a clean bed, a clean shower, cheap and close to the parks.

Forgot to add this last night. The Motel does offer a shuttle for parks leaves at 9 AM and returns at 7 PM. Not very convenient for us. You can walk to US/IOA using Universal drive if you want. Cab fare from US/IOA back to hotel was 8 dollars. Cheaper than parking thats for sure.

Internet is 39 cents a minute in the "bistro" that is open limited hours in the morning and evening.

Many restaurants in the area offering breakfast buffets within 3 blocks offer 3.99 to 4.99 a person drinks are extra of course. Numerous chain restaurants in the area as well.
