Is it possible to use DVC points to rent a room for the day? We are on the August Repo cruise and our flights are about 7pm, last time it was a long day, and it would have been nice to have a room, we could also have got some rest as we had to be up at 5.30!

Thanks for any info.

You can use your points and just check out before the flight, but I probably wouldn't do it since you might not get in until 4. I don't think they do "day room" rentals.

The Hyatt at MCO has day room rates......not sure what they are though. I had friend who rented a day room there after a Disney Cruise (their flight didn't leave until 8 PM), and she loved it! The kids used the pool for a while and then everyone was able to take a nap!

If it were me, I'd reserve the night before and then have MS put a note on it that we wouldn't be arriving until 6 am (or whatever the expected arrival time might be) the following morning.

Then I'd call or fax the resort just before I left on the cruise and tell them. Might even get a friend or neighbor to call the day of check in to remind them we wouldn't be there until early the next morning.

It would be nice to have a room for the day since your flights do't leave until late.

Best wishes -

You can check in at 6 a.m. the next morning, but you will only end up having the room for a couple of hours because your check out time will be 11 a.m.

That doesn't seem worth it to me.

You're right - she'd have to reserve two nights to really do what she wants to do under "normal" circumstsances. Guess she will have to call and ask if DVC will do day rates. Maybe they will if the resort isn't sold out.

Best wishes -

Thanks for the replies, booking for two nights seemed the only option to me, and of course it will be Friday and Saturday night so would cost alot of points just for a few hours. Looks like being the Hyatt. May give DVC a ring or drop them a mail to see if there are any other options.

Thanks again

If you are coming back from a cruise, then maybe it would be better to rent a cheapie room by the airport so you can nap and shower before your flight.

In the good old days, most hotels had day rooms available for a nominal fee. I guess the cost of cleaning them sort of made that perk go away.

What replaces it nowadays seems to be the use of the hotels spa/pool facilities with lockers, shower, towels, changing room etc. I've often done this when I 've had a late flight and if I've stayed at the hotel the night before, it has always been comped. As I understand it...you will be cruising the night before, right? And you wanted to drive back to DisneyWorld for a last day at Disney before your flight? Why not have that day and then use the shower facilities at the hotel spa/exercise room. Maybe you could book a massage for you and they would let your family use the showers too?

Wouldn't they have taken a shower before they got off the ship? Why would they need another one? Usually one a day is enough for me, unless I wind up running a 5K race in 90 degree weather.
