Yes, I did it. I got my taxes done, my spring cleaning done, got my work done in advance for a few days, and since husband and kids would not be at home, I boldly booked that $99 flight and went for a few days of 78 degrees and sunny at WDW!!!!! :thumbsup2 The really good news, when I ran it past DH, he said, oh, just stay at the Polynesian! You love it so much! (Twist my arm!!!! :teeth: ) So I changed the reservation to the Poly and off I went.

Now I didn't check luggage, and I was arriving at a very quiet time of day, but just the same, I was happy to see that Disney's Magica Express was not the old Mears experience. (My memory of Mears from 7 or 8 years ago: A bunch of screaming women with clipboards and alot of confusion!! :headache: ) This, instead, was organized and friendly, with that WDW touch! pixiedust: From the moment I got to level one of the "A" side of MCO, there were Disney cast members to show me the way to the check in, and then to the correct line to my resort. (not that I didn't miss Mears' system of a crowd of people all screaming at once and no lines and no clue what was going on!!!!! :p )

The bus driver was a cutie and we watched a video about things to do in the parks that was about 100 times better than the current planning video the whole way to the resort and we were there before we know it.

On our bus were WL and GF people as well, so he dropped off WL, then us at the Poly, then the folks at the GF.

There were still a few hours of that Florida sunshine left so I threw myself in my room and headed out (note to self:next time write down your room number so you don't wander around the halls for 1/2 hour trying to remember what it is when you get back at night!!! )

Of course, I am such a classic WDW person and I had to go see the castle before I did anything else, so I walked over to the Ticket and Transportation Center (this is what I love about the Poly!) and took the ferry over to the MK. The crowds were light at about 4:00 PM and I did a few of those things the rest of my family never really wants to do, like Carousel of Progress and the train, and then I went of Space Mountain twice in a row!!!! :cloud9:
Only those of you that love the MK like I do can really appreciate how happy I was to escape cold winter weather and in a few hours find yourself in the middle of the magic, with summer temperatures!!

I know some of you were sceptical that I'd get any work done on this trip, but at about 7:30 it really came in handy. It was Monday, and Spectromagic was at 8:00 and Wishes at 9:00, so since I hadn't eaten dinner, I went over to Cosmic Rays and got a table outside facing the castle, ate dinner, did some reading I'd brought along, and waited for Wishes to start...at the best seat in the house. (great view of Tinkerbell's flight! Which makes me cry, I'm such a dork! :sad1: )

Afterwards I mosied out of the park, and did a bit of shopping on Main Street, then headed back to the Poly for a silly tiki cocktail at the lounge :drinking1 , called the family at their various locations to say, "having a great time wish you were here!" and then wandered around trying to remember where my room was and finally had to go back to check-in to be reminded!!!! Oh well....not too embarrassing or anything!

I'll tell you all about the next couple of days if you are interested!!!:tink:
