We are going to have a day off from the parks mid-week. If the weather is nice, I think we'll spend a lot of time playing at the resort pool. I'm not sure what else to do though. Any suggestions for easy, simple, fun activities for rest days? My kids are not good shoppers.

Don't know where you are staying but you could go check out the deluxe resorts, WL, GF or boardwalk area. Ride the Monorail or one of the many boats between resorts. It's all free no pressure things to do and see.

We are going in December and plan on having a day with no parks mid week too. I dont know if we'll be able to swim or not depending on weather so I'd like to know some fun things to do also on our down day. Or best resorts to visit :)

The Disney mini putt locations are alot of fun--especially for kids. We got free vouchers in our vacation packet on each of our trips last year which saved $$$. :cool1:

We went in Dec 2012 and on our down day we went to the Deluxe resorts and looked at all of the decorations. The time before that we just walked around DTD and swam at the hotel.

Swim in the morning. Then lunch at downtown Disney. After lunch hit the Lego store and play on the spray ground. Take a nap. Grab something to eat and then take the kids over to the fort wilderness campground to roast marshmallows with chip and dale. If the kids are still awake see the electric water patent before heading back to the hotel. Other than meals a fun free day off for your age kids.

Where are you staying? Each of the resorts have some sort of fun free activity during the day. I know the Poly has hula lessons and lei making sessions, there are pool games at the Values, etc.

We plan one or two days of non-parks each trip. We enjoy the pool, pool games, and other fun at the resorts. Have you visited all the resorts? Go to MK and walk (stroller) over to the Contemporary. Ride the monorail and check out the other resorts, and/or boat over to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. Bus over to Animal Kingdom Lodge and check out the animals. Roll over to the Boardwalk and check out the area.

We take a day to enjoy downtown disney and the pool!

There is so much to do! My hubby did a fishing excursion last trip and loved it!

Downtown Disney for us. Although we never really have off-days, but that's what we like to do at some point, mid-week Weekends are too crowded for us to enjoy going there (parking is horrendous).

Swimming makes for a fabulous rest day. Disney Quest is also a good time, though obviously not the cheapest option!

Basically we don't move from the pool other then getting refills, bathroom or eating a meal.

We go in the summer so I enjoy the pool as do my kids. On our non park days I was out there by 8 securing our table for the day & I do mean day...one day til 10pm!

I have no desire to be somewhere that day. Some of our non park days I do make dinner reservations but that is 1 out of 5 days.

My kids love the afternoon of pool games as well.

We've decided to have a nice breakfast in the morning. We'll then head back to the resort and chill by the pool for the day. We will have dinner in DTD.
