What do you all recommend doing when we pirt at Nassau with s 2/4 year old? We probably will end up just visiting the beaubut wanted to see what other options were recommended!

We have a 1 and 3 year old and loved Saunders beach. It's a 10 minute bus ride from port and there is a playground and restrooms/showers on the beach. We were there on a weds morning and there were less than 10 people there.

I'm thinking we will do the beach thing. My husband wanted to do something in Atlantis but I don't see paying that much for a few hours.

Definitely do an excursion or just stay on the ship. Get away from the straw market. We didn't plan on getting off the ship with our kids 8/4, we loved having the ship to ourselves. But around lunch time we just wanted to see Nassau a bit and take some pics. Big mistake. I wish we just stayed on the ship. We had no real plan and we wandered for around a hour up and down streets. We won't be doing Nassau again without something that takes me away from that area. We almost booked a very expensive day at Atlantis and I'm so glad we didn't. The groups that went over didn't get over there until about 11! And they were back by 330. It would have been a big waste of money to only get a few hours there.

Lots of people went to Junkaroo beach, but it didn't look all that great especially knowing we were at CC all the next day.

If we booked anything I wish we had done a dolphin encounter or snorkeling off the catamaran (obviously not for toddlers). But having the ship to ourselves was the best.

Don't visit Junkanoo Beach! We were there September 8th and there were huge pieces of glass and trash. Also, the walk is fairly short, but there was a lot of construction and vehicles blocking the sidewalk. We had to walk into the street several times and they drive fast.

How about a small zoo? Did this place about 4 years ago and it was lovely. Small but pretty. Animals were very close. So if your little ones like animals, I would highly recommend it. Not expensive either. I would return again cause it was that nice.

We went to Atlantis (DS 3) and had a very good time there's a lot to do at the actual hotel and my son loved the aquarium and splash area . We paid for the Aquaventure and ill admit it was very expensive and since my DS was so young there wasn't very much for him to do that we couldn't already do on the boat my DH and I took turns on the slides which were awesome btw. But I would recommend either Blue lagoon or just going to the aquarium and Atlantis beach for the day, lunch is included in that port adventure as well. Like others have said avoid the straw market unless you MUST get a souvenir or two for family/friends back home. But you can always bring back Castaway Cay souvenirs which I think are much better. :daisy:

If you really want to do Atlantis, look into booking a throw away room at the Comfort Suites. It's usually considerably cheaper than Atlantis (especially if you have a AAA card) and everyone "staying in your room" gets access to Atlantis. Our rooms were less than $200 a night.

We might try this next time.
