Hello!
We are trying to determine what we are doing to do for our day 6 when we visit in late March. We would love to go to a beach, but are looking for a little local input. I have checked all the weather sites for historical information but am wondering if this would be practical for that time of year. I appreciate your opinions! Thank you.

Average temp in March at Newport Beach is in the low 60s. Average water temp is 59. That's too cold for me to swim!

Yikes! Too cold for me too! Maybe a different attraction instead? How old are the kids?

On the bright side there will be few crowds because the locals won't be there!

we went to Huntington beach in April couple of years ago. I was in a heavy fleece.. my crazy kids were in the water... depends on what you feel is cold . the weather in March April can be hit or miss

Thanks we will be coming from Chicago, so most likely anything will feel warm for us. My son will be 2.5 and would likely be happy just on the sand. It's that or maybe a hike somewhere but he'll be happier on the beach.

We went to Huntington Beach in October just to see the Pacific Ocean - we may not get a chance to in the future! It was very windy on the pier- we walked all the way out. There were surfers In the water. We walked down and played in the sand and then ate lunch in the town.
