Since only me, my son, and my sister and nephew (via my old hoppers) had park tickets, everyone else had to buy them. Well, my dad REALLY didn't want to spend the money, my mom wanted to do MGM, my cousin would do what ever my mom was doing, and my brother-in-law didn't want to be left behind since my mom made my dad go. By the time we got everyone ready and made it to the parks it was well into mid morning and around 105 deg.
I kept begging for them to do AK instead of MGM but my mom wanted to see Fantamisic (sp?) and my dad didn't want to go to a "Zoo".
Honest, I tried to tell them that they would like it better but no one would listen.
We parked at MGM then split up, Since me, my sister, my son, and my nephew had hoppers (or pap's) we hopped over to Epcot so I could take them on Mission Space (my second most favorite ride next to SM). By the time we arrived on the bus it was almost noon and was getting a bit crowded. We did the Space Ship Earth in the ball which the kids liked then headed to get a bite to eat. I sent my sister for the food and I went for fast passes to TT (figuring we could do it after M:S). Now, this was around 12:30...guess what time the return for TT was? That's right 7:07-8:07 that night
. This was a problem since we were just planning a quick stop at Epcot then back to MGM for RnR, ToT, and meet back up with the others....
After a quick bite we got in line for M:S. Well we got stuck in the back queue area (the hiden one almost completely in the sun except for a few small shade trees). They really could learn a few things from Universal about keeping people in lines cool... After the less heat resistant of us was about melted away we finally made it inside (a couple mister fans are really needed in that line). I gave the usual instructions about facing the screen, not turning your head and such since my nephew might have had a problem with it. They all loved it and both my nephew and sister laughed when they got out and couldn't believe people actually got sick on that ride. (I have a hard time understanding that myself).
We called to check on our other party only to find out the men were planing on bailing from MGM already (they should have listened to me)...so we headed over to the Mailstorm ride (sp?) . I gotta say that this is a really nice little ride but it's far too short. I especially liked the "fake" going over the waterfall backwards part and the kids were disappointed when we didn't suddenly drop.
Getting off of that we decide that since the other party has split ways there was no reason to go back early and we could do TT (only a 2 hour wait)..... Suddenly we get a call back, as a final try to enjoy themselves the women had talked them into the Muphets show at MGM..and guess what. My dad loved it..go figure that it would take the muphets to turn my dad around... According to him the kids just had to come back and see it so back toward the busses we went.
We finally meet up with them as they come off of the Great Movie Ride. Both the kids and my cousin want to do ToT so we head over and get in line. My son who is a little unsure of this ride cluches my arm around him like a metal clamp during the "dark" part but really loved it once the drops were over. He spent the rest of the trip asking when we were going back to ride it again lol.
After another line we did RnR then just barely made it to the Fantamisic show on time where my mom had held us some seats. Being the planner I had packed led light rings and a whole tube of 100 glow bracelets. That made the kids happy and I passed some out to the kids sitting around us as well. One thing I do want to mention is that although I didn't see it my mother said that several broke, oozing the glowing liquid. One broke on my niece (3yo) and another reportedly broke on one little girl that I gave it away too. I never had one break on me so I don't know but they may have been cheaply made or twisted in some odd fashion. I got them from http://www.illuminationz.com/ . I hate that it happend to the little girl I gave it away too and may email them asking about it. Just be forwarned that they could do this.
I must say that this show by it's self was well worth the price of admission. It is by far the best show I have seen anywhere! Outstanding would be an understatement. My son who doesn't usually get excited was up waving at the characters and clapping (he is usually too shy).
Well we followed the crowd out and made our way home. We had to usher the kids past the pool to their bedrooms due to another big day planned tomorrow.
Stay tuned for day 6 "up at 7:30 to do AK + MK"
Oh, I highly recommend Pin trading to anyone who has children who are shy. The CM's go out of their way to be friendly to pin traders and by the end of the day both my son and nephew were pulling us toward every CM who even looked like they had a lanyard on.
