We didnt have much planned today. We have been doing the parks everyday of the trip and we wanted to sort of have a day with nothing planned. The only thing for sure I wanted to do was go to the Boardwalk and see the rooms for Saratoga Springs and meet Joan. Joan has spent many hours on the phone with DH and myself talking about the DVC. She has answered every silly question we have come up with and has been completely patient with us. So I wanted to stop by and show her we really were interested in the program.
I woke up about 7:30a.m. and decided that DH would probably prefer to sleep in . So I grabbed my book and headed down to my terrace (see Day 1). For two hours I had the terrace all to myself and I watched lots of animals as I relaxed reading my book and newspaper. I left it about 9:30 to head to the savannah by the pool where I pulled up a chair and enjoyed another hour of solitude. I got back to the room about 11a.m. and DH was up and watching TV munching on Peanut butter crackers. We took our time getting showered and organized. Dh was worrying the whole time that I was bored since we werent doing anything. I told him about 8 times to relax I sure was! We discussed lunch and DH said well lets head to EPCOT we can check out our painting (hehehe) and grab lunch in the World Showcase. So off we go.
Back to the Art of Disney where we studied our painting again.
We decided to ride some rides before lunch so we got in line for Mission Space. Now we were both nervous about Mission Space and man they sure do drum into your head that it is a ride at your own risk type ride. The couple in the ride with us though made the ride great. The girl kept repeating and screaming everything our commander told us to good. The take off is amazing and the whole time Im thinking just look forward, just look forward, just look forward ..OH MY GOD I HAVE TO BLINK!!!! Hehehee. We landed and left the ride. DH loved it, I was a little shaky and sat down outside for 5 minutes but otherwise did not feel any ill effects. We both thought the ride was great. Mufasa your team did a great job! J
We headed to Test Track and took a spin always fun. Now onto the World Showcase! We started in Mexico walked through the pavilion and got Margaritas. Those things are big and powerful! Wow! Walked through the entire World with not much grabbing our eye until Canada and Le Cellier a favorite from last trip. So we went in at about 1:30 with no PS and were seated right away. I had the cheese soup, which is just too fantastic for words. They just changed their menu 2 weeks ago so some items are gone which was pretty sad since they were yummy. We had the lunch menu for our meal so Dh got the steak burger and I got a chicken sandwich. I removed my bun for the meal because the chicken breast was huge and had almost a honey mustard glaze on it really yummy.
We left Le Celleir and walked to the International Gateway where we walked over to the boardwalk. Met up with Joan who took us on the tour. We would love to do DVC but we are just not comfortable enough financially to do it right now. We just sorta walked around the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, and beach club and decided at about 4p.m. to find Beaches and Creams after a bit of searching we found it and grabbed a table outside. We played in their arcade a big (dh pounded me with air hockey) and waited for our friends to meet up with us.
We all parted company about 8ish I think I lost track of time. DH and I headed to the lodge to change ( it was getting a bit cool). After that we decided to go play Mini Golf. We caught an Epcot Bus and the driver was nice enough to take us directly to the Swan. Wasnt that nice? Disney Magic! We played the Fantasia course the Cast Member offered us the hardest miniature golf course in the country but Dh and I figured we would fight the battles we knew we had a chance at winning.
I got lost on the way back and we ended up at the Boardwalk where we met a very nice young couple from New York that we talked to for a few minutes. They were so nice and had me and DH just smiling from ear to ear when we parted. I love meeting people at Disney.
