Cast of characters Me and DM who is 80 years old.
I feel I must explain a little about my mother. Yes she is 80, but doesn't look like it or act like it. She looks so much younger than she is that she gets carded on the bus when she only puts in the senior fare.(and that starts at 65 here)She is hale and harty. And has fought off 2 bouts of breast cancer. She won't let me lift her bags because she says lifting heavy objects is good for old folks!!!. So do not picture her as the stereotypical 80 year old. She however does start to get tired around 2 or 3 each day.
So back to Day 2 Mon Sept 22.Today we head out to USF. We go down to the dock and catch our first ride on the boat to the parks. We marvel at how beautiful everything is from the boat with the lush landscaping on all sides. Mother says she is up for everything. We have our FOTL passes and use them but we really didn't need to. First stop is the bakery to have a quick bite and get our bearings. I have been here 3 times before but she has never been to Universal. We do just about everything in the park: Twister Earthquake Jaws MIBII Back to the Future ET Make-up show Graveyard review Shrek all pretty much before 2 PM Had lunch at the Drive-in around noon. And so back to the room for a rest. Around five or so we revive and head out to CityWalk to get something to eat. Mother has started to make jewelry mostly braclets so we spend some time looking at the different carts that abound in this area. On a whim we check to see if we can get a table at Emeril's. No tables but they say we can eat at the bar.Fine since we really aren't all that hungry. Mother orders the mushroom soup and I had heard great things about the BBQ Shrimp so I order that. No one brings any bread to have with the soup. I don't know if that just doesn't come with the soup but we ask for it and it finally comes after the soup is cold so mother only has the bread. I really enjoyed the shrimp. The appetizers size is just right. Spend more time wondering around CityWalk and take that beautiful boat ride back to the hotel. What a great day! Especially having such great giggles with my Mother. We both loved everything, but I sure miss King Kong, Alfred Hitchcock and Murder She Wrote. Finished the evening on my wonderful terrace with some more of the nice wine. A little TV and then to bed. I really like these beds very comfortable once you get in them. I especially like the choice of pillows.
One note: The newspaper you get in the morning here is the USA Today. I'm not a big fan of this paper as I would like to know more what's going on in Orlando. Besides, USA Today does not carry Comics.
