Nassau day- We were docked pretty early but shore time wasn't until 9:30ish. I went up for breakfast before Rachel woke up and had an interesting talk with one of the CMs about Pirates of the Caribbean (as it was cool pirate shirt day) After Rachel woke up we went back up to Beach Blanket then it was time to hit Nassau. We didn't have an excursion booked so we just wandered around passed the "hair braiding over here" and "need a taxi" .
We soon found the Pirates of Nassau museum where were took the tour- It was not a bad tour for being where it was and was rather well done. The gift shop left something to be desired though... After we continued wandering and ended up at the Straw Market. Easiest way to describe it- 10 items a billion of them. All the different vendors had the same thing "t-shirts 4 for 10 dolla" " you like? I make a deal" I did buy a few things for souvenirs but didn't spend more than 20 bucks total.
After it was lunch time so we headed back to the ship (free food!) ate at Beach Blanket again (still good food) then I headed back out to go find the recommended historical sites (Rachel didn't want to go) they were pretty easy to find with the Passporter map and the elevator at the Water Tower was right up with the Tower of Terror... Where for 50 cents you to can have that experience! Gorgeous view though.. After I saw Fort Fincastle (right in front of the water tower) I headed for the Queens Staircase- That was soo gorgeous. It was a path cut out of stone slabs about 400 feet long with a long staircase at the end surrounded by green plants- It had a stair for every year of the queens reign (I believe it was Queen Elizabeth) It was well worth the walk.
After I headed back towards the boat making a few detours but still back on board by 2:30. We took a nap and just had down time as we didn't want to see the magic show that night. We went up for pin trading and some character meet and greets about 7:30 until it was time for dinner at Animators Palate. What a great restaurant. It starts out completely black and white and though the course of your meal color takes over. The food was very good and the Strawberry Shortcake is to die for-
After dinner we headed up to the Tropical Deck Party which was great. We both skipped the dessert buffet as well we just had finished dinner- We called it a night about 12 as tomorrow was Castaway!
