Thur Oct 24th
Cast of characters: DD-Emily, 3 ½ yo, grouchy princess
DW-Jody, 40, the younger old dog
Me-John, 50, monkeys dad & older dog
Emily answered the Mickey wake up call at 6 AM (actually I picked up the receiver & put it to her ear, & boy did her eyes pop open!)
Got to the bus stop early (by 7:10, do you detect a pattern here?!?) for our Cindys RT princess breakfast. To our amazement, the character breakfast bus drove right by us! No sweat, as an early entry bus showed up just minutes later to whisk us away. I cant thank Dreams Unlimited enough for making this PS a painless & stress free experience. They have a dedicated staff that all but ensures you will have one CRT PS per on property reservation that you make with DU!
We arrived just before the 8 AM EE & upon entry met with some characters in the town square/flag pole! Emily met with White Rabbit, Friar Tuck, Baloo & King Louie for pictures & autographs (from now on P&A)!
We had a great time with the princesses (sure the all you can eat breakfast is just so-so, but we pay the bucks for the atmosphere/princess experience)! We saw Cinderella, Aurora, Mary Poppins & Belle in the dining room & Snow White in the lobby for P&A (we saw Jasmine in passing in that she was originally in the lobby when we went up & heading up, when we left).
Then on to Fantasyland, Jody & Emily did Cindys Carousel with no wait! Emily met Bert for a P&A! Then onto Dumbo with little wait! Snow White was practically a walk on! Fantasyland had started to get busy by now. We got in the cue for Peter Pan with a 25-minute wait. I guess I didnt vocalize enough about fast pass.
We were in line about an hour when we finally got on! Jody agreed to never skip fast pass again! In her words Its hard to teach an old dog a new trick, but that was one lesson not to be forgotten!
I was definitely getting into the pin trading! Emily was not really into it yet (Jody was wearing a pink lanyard for her, as Emily only wanted to play with the pins until they fell off!) In Jodys words (from now on IJW) DH was pin trading with any UNSUSPECTING/UNFORTUNATE cast member with a lanyard! Got some good stuff too! Well, I guess she DID approve after all!
We then headed for Haunted Mansion.
IJW It went great! We got fast passes, waited 20 minutes & got right on! One Scooby snack for this old dog! I hated to tell her she was being irreverent in the wrong park LOL!
Also IJW, The heat & humidity was getting to the crew, so we rode POC which revitalized us! We then headed to Tonys for our 1 PM PS lunch.
The food was good (limited selections from their regular fare). Jody & I had sgetti & meatball & Emily had pizza. We saw the big Four from the Hundred Acre Woods for P&A! We were tired & headed out, with pin trading & a P&A with Clopin before we got on the POR bus!
IJW "Time for a rest for Emily & us old dogs, WRONG! Emily had wiggle monkey troubles big time!
First with Mom trying to get her to sleep for 30 minutes, then Dad got his 45 minutes worth of trying to get the squirmy wormy princess to sleep & none of us got any rest!"
We drove to DTD in the rain with grouchy Emily! IJW Wonder why?!?
A fast tour of WoD, a few pin trades, purchased T-shirts & oh yes, one chocolate sucker for the princess! Then we headed for the super Wal-Mart in Kissimee. This was a mistake because we were all in a bad mood.
We actually never went in! But we did get to see some of I drive & Erlo B Highway! Man what a light show! Then back to POR. By the way, the chocolate adjusted Emilys attitude only a few degrees! She was much too tired for quick fixes! NOW she falls asleep!
DH went to the food court for our supper & soon to bed for us old dogs!Day 3 If you dare!
