DSIS Tricia (ThumperThistle)
Woke up at 9am, shame on us! Pleased to report that the swelling on Tricias foot has gone done a bit more and no longer looks like it may burst. Tricia got up first and opened the door to be greeted with glorious sunshine, the rain from last night has gone, YIPPEE!!
Arrived at Animal Kingdom at 10.20am. The security man commented on how I must have done the security checks before. I am becoming a pro at these. Headed straight for Kilimanjaro Safari and were very surprised that we only had a 10 minute wait (without a fastpass). Saw loads of animals and surprise, surprise the lions were asleep. I have never seen the lions move. We were surprised that we saw so many animals because it was so HOT we thought they would have gone to seek out the shade. Even saw a gorilla in the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. It turned its back on the crowd, must have been shy.
After this I needed to have lunch. I had only had some polo mints for breakfast so I was hungry. Tricia had had a turkey wrap but she said she could eat again. Decided on McDonalds as we hadnt eaten there yet so we stumbled along in that direction stopping briefly to buy a squeeze breeze. This park was like an oven. When Tricia was putting her purse away I kindly cooled her down with the squeeze breeze, everything was fine until she turned round and got her very long hair tangled in the fan. I was afraid her hair would break it, and we had only just spent $17 on it so I ripped her hair out of the fan. Pleased to report that the squeeze breeze was still working and Tricia spent the next five minutes trying to get numerous knots out of her hair.
Finally arrived in Dinoland and we were soon in McDonalds. We both had pork ribs which were nice. As we were eating I was kind of in a daze and for a moment I thought I was halucinating when a dinosaur walked past the window. After a brief panic I remembered I was in Disney and not Glasgow Next we went to Triceratops Spin, had to spray water on the seat to cool it down a bit before I could sit down. Gave Primeval Whirl a body swerve, I cant handle the waltzers so I figured this would make the pork ribs evacuate my stomach. Tried to win a dinosaur on a mammoth race. You had to roll balls into holes to get your mammoth to move. Unfortunately my mammoth appeared to have just come off Primeval Whirl, he didnt move fast at all. The 2nd time I played my mammoth was in the lead but he soon fell back and at the end of the race he hadnt even made the top 3. Last year I won a dolphin on this game at California Adventure. Joined the line for Tarzan Rocks and when they let the crowd in we sat right at the side of the stage. We both enjoyed this show, its not on par with Festival of the Lion King but it is wonderful in comparison to what you would get at a theme park in Scotland.
Went to meet some characters next. The family behind us (mum, dad, two teenagers) were the last people to get in as the characters need a refreshment break. Got photo taken with Eeyore and then joined the line to have a professional picture taken with Pooh, Pooh was the only character the photographer was photographing. When the people in front of us were finished the family behind walked straight in front of us and began their mammoth photo session with Pooh. When the CM realised they had skipped us (I did express my disgust rather loudly) she told them to get back in line. Thank you CM Maria After Pooh I went and got my picture taken with Piglet. As we were about to leave CM Maria called us back and said the photographer would take us with Piglet as well, a token gesture to make up for the rude people behind us. When we left here we found my favourite character Tigger further down the park all on his own, wonder if he had fallen out with his friends hmmmmm .. Got my photo taken with Tigger and then went to Tough to be a Bug which we walked straight into. Very funny but did there not used to be wasps buzzing round your head or is that at California Adventure?
Next I staked out a spot for the parade while Tricia went to get some drinks and snacks for us. I looke drather stupid sitting alone on the ground(no-one else had grabbed a spot yet) but I dint care because I had a spot in the shade The parade was very good. One of the stilt walkers fell over and tried 3 times to get up but he couldnt. In the end a CM and a man from the crowd got him back up, he did receive a huge cheer from the crowd. I got all this on video so I might send it to Youve Been Framed. Went and collected our professional photographs before we left the park, the CM was surprised to see we had one with Piglet. On the way out I got a photo with Pluto. He had a little boy throw his pen away so he could fetch it. It was so cute.
Waited 10 minutes for the bus and when it arrived the queue was huge. We were 2nd in the queue so we got a seat. A boy of about 13 skipped the line and then sat at the back of the bus with his legs across 3 seats. A man who had waited in the line asked him politley to move his legs. The boy said no. The man told him to move and again the boy said no so the man sat on him He moved then. Turned out the boy was with the family who had skipped us at the character greeting. Seems they wanted everything for themselves. The mother was wearing a necklace, earrings and a bracelet all with her name on them, I mean it cant be that difficult to remember who you are can it? Had dinner at food court and chilled out a bit before going to the Magic Kingdom for E-night.
On arrival at MK we went to the shop at the exit of the Winnie the Pooh ride to get a book for my friends daughter then we went to Toontown to meet some more characters but the line was huge so we gave it a miss and went to Tomorrowland and got a fast pass for Buzz Lightyear. Had a turkey leg and rode the TTA while we waited for our fast pass time. Walked past the 45 minute standby line and staright onto Buzz. I beat Tricia again!!! Left Tomoorwland and went down Main Street to watch Spectro Magic which is my all time favourite parade . When it finished we headed to the bus and caught the Electric Water Pageant as it passed by. Had our regular tour of the gift shop when we returned to the hotel and bought a mug for Bouncys DH. We got him a Mickey Mouse one though we told Bouncy we had got him Tinkerbell!!! Returned to room to collect mugs and add our shopping to the shopping mountain in the corner. Went back to food court, filled the mugs and then went for a walk round the hotel. There was a security woman walking round as well, dont remember ever seeing that before at the resort. Had a paddle on the steps on the pool and returned to the room. Organised a wake up call for 7.30am tomorrow(going ot Blizzard Beach and Epcot) and went to bed. No rain today!!!
