Animal Kingdom & Spectro

Gianni wanted to go to the pool so I took him down at about 7.15. We got back to the room to rouse the troops and didn’t get to the food-hall until just before 9am. It was mayhem – maybe that’s harsh – it was just very busy and I didn’t fancy queuing!

So, no breakfast and onto the bus to Animal Kingdom we climbed. We arrived and there was quite a queue so I led the family through to the entrance in Rainforest Café. What a heroine I was in my family’s eyes :worship: Of course we were then set back because Enz just wanted to fiddle around with the camcorder!

We made our way to Africa where I headed to Kilimanjaro for safari FP’s whilst Enz bought the brekkie. Same old same old I’m afraid! I had my bagel again and the rest of em had choc chip muffins. We did share a couple of fruit cups for good luck though!

The Safari was a bit disappointing – there didn’t seem to be many animals around today :(

From Africa we made our way to Asia. While Enz and the kids did Kali River Rapids (I really didn’t feel like doing a wet ride today) I made my way to Dinoland to collect FP’s for Dinosaur and took photos of the new Everest ride in progress.

Gianni was unimpressed with Kali R R because only one person got wet and it wasn’t him!

We all loved Dinosaur even with the shock we all received and had forgotten about since our last trip (of course, typing this I find I’ve forgotten what it is again! So I’ll be in for a shock when we go on the next ‘trip pf a lifetime’!)

It was then time to make our way to Camp Mickey Minnie for some autographs and photographs. Gianni had been asking constantly to go there – you have to give in eventually! On the way we met pooh, Eeyore & Piglet as you do! We met Mickey, Minnie, Pluto & Goofy at Camp M M. And then who should we bump into on the way to lunch? Chip & Dale!!! The queues here were virtually non-existent! Result!! We won’t have to queue for hours to meet Mickey at M K! Wrong! Gianni wants to meet him there because Mickey wears his ‘old-fashioned’ outfit there!

Pizzafari for lunch where the kids shared a pizza and Enz & I shared a sandwich and crisps.

We went to see the Lion King show – this is one of my favourite shows :Pinkbounc

We were all feeling hot and bothered by now – 3.30 – so headed back to the resort so the kids could have a dip in the pool. I am sat here at the poolside watching the little angels trying to drown each other – why????

Will we get to M K For Wished & Spectro tonight?

Where will we eat?

What will we eat?

Panic panic!!

I couldn’t stand it any longer – I dragged the kids out of the pool, made them shower and change and am proud to write that we made it to M K for 7.15!

Wow! Main Street was already being lined by parade-viewers. The parade was due to start at 9pm!!!!

We fought our way up Main Street and made our way through to Advertureland. Mission – to hunt down some food (for a change :earboy2: ). It was awkward to find something non-meat for Gabs so we headed to Liberty Square.

It was 8pm by now so in a panic we nipped into Liberty Square Tavern – at least Gabs could have mash there! No table!

Onward we go and spot Columbia Harbour House. It was quite a wait for the food, but when it came we all enjoyed it very much. Enz – ham/cheese sandwich (had a much better name than that but I can’t remember it!), Gabs – Anchorss A Weigh (that’s tuna s’wich to you and me ;)), Gianni had the kids chicken meal servied in a Mickey Ears plate (chopped grilled chicken, cheese cubes & cheesy crackers) and I had ½ tuna sandwich and a cup of chowder. Yum yum! Total $27.00.

Well-fuelled it was time to hit the attractions. Let’s do something we didn’t do yesterday!

Nah – let’s do Philharmagic again :teeth: :teeth:

We shared a big, soft, warm pretzel on out way to Toon Town. We stopped so I could take a photo of Enz & the kids and I just about jumped out of my skin when this big burly security man appeared at my side! I was so shocked that when he offered to take a photo of us all I got in the photo, no arguing! Lol

The kids walked straight onto Goofy’s Barnstormer – twice – whilst Enz and I shared a couple of fruit cups.

I was now anxious to make our way towards a spot to view Wishes. We walked through Tommorrowland – collecting 3 tubs of ice-cream on our way :flower: (I shared with Enz!) $9.00.

We came to rest on the walk way between Tomorrowland and the road in from of the castle.

Not much of a wait until the fireworks started at 10. There were great but I’d like to see them again – without trying to take photos! I was fiddling about with the camera so much I missed half of them! I turned the camera off for the finale because I’d had enough. I’m sure Enz feels the same way about the video camera.

When the fireworks ended we found a spot to sit on the pavement of the little roundabout in front of the Castle and waited for the 11pm Spectro parade.

There were hoards of people leaving the park after Wishes so it felt quite crushing sitting down, but once it had cleared there was plenty of room for people to sit.

I went to buy a box of popcorn to share and we settled down.

Spectro is fantastic! My only complaint (there’s always one isn’t there ::MickeyMo ) why does Mickey come out so early? We all thought the parade had finished when he went by!

Once the parade had finished we headed towards the bus – the crowds leaving weren’t as bad as those leaving after Wishes.

We were all tucked up in bed by 12.30 to catch some zzzzz because it’s Epcot tomorrow.

Just realised re-reading this that we seem to eat a lot lol

Have never seen Wishes or Spectro but definitely gonna this time. Great report - you certainly packed a lot in today :Pinkbounc

aaah wishes, brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it
what a great report :)

Shame about the safari but I so enjoyed the reports. Have added a few things to our wish list :goodvibes

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

I couldn't get my kids to stay up for Wishes or Spectro :sad2:
Must try Columbia Harbour House next time - sounds great. I love the way passing cast members offer to take photos - we had a family photo taken in AK by the bloke sweeping up the litter, and it was as good as some of the ones the Photopass CMs took! :)

We have had nice meals at the Colombia Harbour House :)

Just LOVE Wishes and Spectro :flower:

Lovely report. It is fantastic seeing the fireworks with the castle in front. We saw the fireworks three times this time but none with the castle in proper view, wrong place at the wrong time but still spectacular.

We got caught in the crowds leaving after Wishes and it took is one and half hours to get home. It was a nightmare, we avoided leaving at the time after that, either leaving before or after the fireworks.
