Its not a normal morning if my place of employment isnt calling me at the crack of dawn to ask me a silly question. So
thats how my day one started. Wake up early from the phone call and decide to stay up. Throw my last load of laundry in the dryer (yes, I am a procrastinator) and finish my packing. End up having to bring an extra carry on bag because one of my employees made me banana bread to take on my trip and some extra to give to our old manager who lives in Orlando now. Run to the bank and grocery store (had to pick up RX) with mom and come home to cram the rest of my belongings in my suitcase. I, like every other female out there, am a chronic over packer. My suitcase is so full Im wondering how Ill be able to bring any souvenirs home!! Carry it all out to the car, say goodbye to my dogs and were on the way! Stop at my place of employment, pick up the bread and walk over to the airport with my parents who are seeing me off. Check in with Southwest goes smoothly, I checked in online, got the A boarding zone, and all I had to do was drop my luggage off and I was on my way! Of course, my laptop bag was the one chosen by TSA so that took forever, very nice search guy however. Go to the bar in the airport for a drink and then head to my gate a few minutes before boarding. Things went smoothly, we did end up taking off at 2:30 instead of 2:15, couldve had time for 1 more drink at the bar! I managed to get an entire exit row completely to myself even though the plane was pretty full! Watched Wedding Crashers on my laptop for a while, then I turned on iTunes and decided to start my trip report. Blissfully boring. Greg, my old manager, Karen (wife), Blair (son), and Hailey (daughter) pick me up from the airport. It was nice to have someone waiting for me at the airport on a solo trip! Very unusual. It is gorgeous outside, 80 degrees and sunny! Drive to Hyatt was uneventful, interesting however, considering I was in the backseat with 2 very rambuncious children. Drop me off and say our goodbyes. We'll meet up again later in the trip. Check in, have the same front desk agent from a year ago and she remembers me! Get my complimentary glass of champagne and head up to my room. Big suprise, it's the same room I had a year ago with the beautiful rooftop patio! WONDERFUL view. I'll have to post pictures later. Settled in and called an old high school friend to make plans to watch the Steelers tomorrow at ESPN. Then walked down to the cafe and got something to eat. Right now however, I am off to go see Cirque and then maybe a visit to the hot tub when I get back. I will keep you all posted. Let me know if you have any questions!
