I was shocked when we got it and even more shocked when we got it for my Mom. I am curious how full the ship will be. I see all of the inside Staterooms are booked but still room left in the other categories. we didn't even have any difficulty getting Palo, but all of the alcohol tastings are booked.

It makes sense to me. Not only is the first sailing during the school year and so potentially less popular for that reason, the May and September sailings are also the cruises targeted by budget conscious passengers because they are so much cheaper than the June-early August peak season. I am a pretty budget-conscious person and $264 per person to sail on a boat to see a glacier close up (over $1,000 for my family of 5), versus staying on the ship and seeing the glacier slightly less close up for $0 is a no brainer for me. For the folks willing to sail in peak season at the crazy prices DCL charges, the extra cost of this excursion probably seems much less insane, and hence it fills up faster than on the earliest sailings. Just a theory.

Tried to book the glacier up close excursion last night, and for a moment right at midnight it said no excursions on this day. Now it’s just throwing the error.
