Hi all we are going to Davy Crockett 2 - 12 Apr 09. I have read good and bad about DC and would like input from those who have been recently. Specifically the quality of the resort and whether there is a laundry facility available? I appreciate it.

we have stayed there twice and were quite happy with it. The first time we stayed in a one bedroom cabin and the 2nd in a 2 bedroom which we felt was much better - newer.

Im not sure if there is laundry facilities there but is at Cheyenne for use of all guests .

Laundry facilities are few and far between at DLP (cheyenne and Santa Fe have a few machines). If it is not too late and laundry is important to you, I recommend the MArriott where you have a two bedroom villa with your own washer and dryer, full kitchen, 3 bathrooms, 3 TVs, DVD and stereo. Sometimes it can be cheaper to stay in the 5 star resort and buy APs than to stay in the 3 star DCR. But DCR has the best Disney pool in France and the 2 bedrooms are a better choice (some do suffer from mold). You may get lucky or not. We used to love it, but the last few years we have opted for other options.

As suggested, it can be pot luck with the quality of the cabins. A few years ago we had one that was awful. So awful that when I sent some pics with a letter of complaint I was given a free holiday.

I was told that we's have been moved if we'd complained straight away.

I have to say that ever since they have been fantastic, other than a few ants in the kitchen area during the warm season, which is to be expected in the middle of a forest.

The 2 bed cabins do seem to be a safer bet if you don't mind paying the extra, although we've often booked a 1 bedroom and been upgraded on arrival with nothing said.

Reception is 24 hr, and generally very helpful. Housekeeping are excellent and will clean the cabin every day if you request, and will deliver clean towels, etc. immediately.

The pool is superb, and we've often had it to ourselves during the day.

The buffet food at the restaurant is also very high quality.

The shop is pricey, which is to be expected, but there is a MASSIVE supermark in Val de Europe which is 10 minutes away by car.

Would also recommend the Tree Tops Adventure at the entrance to the resort.

Have a great time!

We have always used the laundry at the Hotel Cheyenne at least once during our Davy Crockett Ranch stays.
If you want all the benefits and a Disney magic stay with space, then DCR can not be beaten :) As stated it has a great pool facility. Organized activities including 2 hours of organized character meets. Mickey and co normally finish the evening in a dance along with children and adults :)

we stayed in a 2 bed cabin in May 08 and it was lovely, the place was clean, tidy and spacious, definitly a must with young children as there is so much more space then in a hotel room. the cabin had everything we needed... have fun :goodvibes
