We have decided last minute to take our daughters (ages 6 & 7) to Disneyland for Christmas this year. My 7 year old, Kaitlyn, is worried that Santa will forget to bring presents for her if she is not at home. We've already explained that Santa doesn't forget anyone and he will bring her presents to the house even if she is not here (possibly even bringing them before Christmas) since she won't be able to carry a ton of stuff on the airplane. However, she is still worried and has asked me to post here to see if anyone has ever been to Disneyland at Christmas time and to make sure that Santa has not forgotten them. We would appreciate any words of encouragement for Miss Kaitlyn. Thank you all!

Please inform Kaitlyn that what is often not known is that Santa is a savy technology user. He is well wired in to the travel industry and keeps tabs on who is going where and when over the Christmas season. Not quite as famous as the Naught or Nice list, there is the "I won't be home for Christmas" list. In addition, the folks at Disney are provided with a direct line to the North Pole and provide a constantly updated guest list so no one gets left out. So Kaitlyn should have no fears, with Santa and Mickey watching her back. She'll have a magical holiday and all those presents to look forward to at home when she gets back. What could be better?

Could you take Miss Kaitlyn to see Santa, so he can reassure her that he will leave her presents for her at home? I think getting confirmation from the big guy will help!

Let Miss Kaitlyn know that we went to WDW in 2007, over Christmas. We ran into Santa there, and DS reminded him that "I not home but don't fordet me". Santa was quick to reassure him that he would not forget, and would leave his presents at home under our tree. Santa also said he would leave a small present at the hotel for him--which was unexpected!

Come Christmas morning, there was a small stuffed Mickey from Santa, delivered early Christmas eve while we were at the parks--I guess Santa came to Orlando to see the WDW fireworks that night!

I can remember having these same concerns when I was young. Sure enough when we came back from Hawaii Santa had left stuff under the tree.

When older I was more concerned for younger siblings. We took a ski trip for 2 weeks. I asked if we would have a tree in the condo, parents said yes. Would Santa know to put the presents under the tree in the condo, yes again.

I think Jedana has a good idea. Take Kaitlyn to Santa himself and let him reasure her.

We will also be in Disneyland for Christmas and my 7 year old daughter had the same concerns. We told her that we checked with Santa and he assured us that the elves had already made the changes in his schedule. (I believe that he has an office of elves who set his GPS and map out the plans). The elves must know EVERYTHING that goes on, because Santa said they were on top of the situation and our packages were packed in the California section! So, no worries sweetie, the elves got it covered!:santa:

We have been doing Christmas at Disneyland the last 10+ years, and Santa has not messed up yet with my kids! He always seems to know if we have enough room in the car, as then he will deliver to our hotel room, otherwise, they are at home when we get back! He really is that good!

Your daughter can also express her concerns to Santa directly while at the Resort, if she is really worried about being forgotten! :santa:

Santa can be found in 5 places around Disneyland Resort - at the Reindeer Round-Up in Disneyland (Frontierland), in the Paradise Pier area of California Adventure, at the Grand Californian Hotel (generally in late afternoon and early evening), at the Disneyland Hotel (not sure of the time but I think probably mid-to-late afternoon) and at the Paradise Pier Hotel (usually in the morning). So she can remind him to not forget every time she sees him!

I know there are a lot of websites where you can arrange it so Santa sends a video, email or even a text. Maybe find one and Santa can send his own reassurance to your daughter.

Oh yes, assure them, all will be alright. I also think it is the elves incredible scheduling abilities that get this done. Somehow, Santa always knows just where to leave the gifts and fill the stockings (sometimes the two are in different places, depending on space and timing - Santa's just amazing that way!!!).

Oh, have fun!

We've traveled at Christmas in years past also.
I have always told my kids that wherever YOUR stocking hangs is where Santa will deliver YOUR gifts. I has always worked like a charm.

We have used the stocking trick as well, it is difficult to carry big presents on a trip but small gifts and gift cards fit well in a stocking. Not only has Santa found us at Disney so has the Tooth Fairy. They are so smart!

I can happily report that Santa found us at Bay Lakes last Christmas and left presents under our tiny little Charlie Brown tree plus he put presents in the stockings hung on the breakfast counter-he is a smart one that Santa!

Thank you all so much for the encouraging words. Kaitlyn is feeling much better now about our trip. She loves Disneyland but was just so worried about Santa that she was sobbing because she didn't want to go. We had already bought our plane tickets, park tickets and booked the hotel so there is no turning back now. We leave on Friday and are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with our favorite mouse. Oh, and a little elf told me that Santa may be making a surprise visit to our house on Wednesday night to help ease any remaining fears that may be there so that Kaitlyn can enjoy her vacation. :)

That is what we are doing. I am taking the stockings (sent the stuffers to the hotel so the kids won't come across them during the drive, and because Buzz keeps talking!!! He just won't be quiet!) with us to put out in the room. Wednesday night we are doing a dinner with their dad's parents and their dad, then we'll open most of our presents Thursday morning before we get on the road (so we don't have to take them all - too much trouble).

You can tell Kaitlyn that Santa is amazing, and even under the most difficult of circumstances, he will deliver. We had planned to go to Walt Disney World before Christmas one year, and then come home for the actual Christmas day. Unfortunately, my husband's mother, and my daughter's grandmother, passed away while we were on our vacation, and just before Christmas. We not only weren't at home, we weren't at Walt Disney World and had no time to write Santa to tell him that we would be in San Francisco, where my husband's mother lived, to handle the funeral details.

Santa left her a Mickey Mouse toy, and a note that the rest of her presents would be waiting for her when she got home, because the sleigh was much better at transporting toys than the airplanes. He also told her that he was very sorry she lost her Grandmother, and that he would be thinking of her especially that Christmas. Sure enough, there they were when she got back!

So even if you can't write to him, or terrible emergencies happen, Santa will come through. McGee will make sure to coordinate with Lanny and Wayne and they will get it done. There's no need to worry about Santa.
