To be fair, I actually censor myself pretty heavily here. You're welcome.

Huh? I have no clue why you posted this, considering I wasn't posting about you.

I frequent a lot of boards. There may not be swearing or out right name calling, but this really is the meanest board I've ever been part of. How disappointing that it's Disney-related.
Huh? Did I even mention you? Does what I wrote even have anything to do with you? No.
You didn't mention anyone actually, so it's pretty open for interpretation. It was more in reference to the 'people act different online' thing. But seriously...

ETA: I see you edited, but I'll leave it since it wouldn't make any sense otherwise.
What's DYFS?! I'm intrigued.
My bad, thought they were Nationally known. They are the organization in NJ teachers are expected to report possible cases of parental abuse/negligence to.

What it is/was: Division of Youth and Family Services. Child Protection. Different states have different names, but relativley certain that only New Jersey used this title. Not surprising in the least that it's not well-recognized.
I only know because it was part of a plot line on a Law & Order: Special Victims Unit![]()
One of my DD's is 3 and when asked how old she is she either doesn't respond or utters something in whatever version of English she speaks. We understand her maybe half the time strangers almost never. Yep speech therapy coming in my future soon. So not every child excitedly shouts THREE.
I edited what I posted to make it clear that I wasn't speaking about you- or anyone specifically. People do act differently online- well, not everyone, but some people get really brave behind a computer screen. Again, not speaking about you.

In a nutshell:
Can you do this? Yes
Is it against the rules/illegal? YES
DO people do it? Yes
Do they get caught? Sometimes
Are people going to tell me how they did it (if they did)? NO
Are children's lives ruined by the mom lying about their age? Not usually
My friend adopted her youngest from China. The girl is of very small stature. My friend used to stick the girl in the stroller, give her a sippy cup, and put a blankie over her lap up until the daughter was 6.Never stopped by a CM, although you could tell by the raised eyebrows and shaking heads that they knew. When the child was 7, she asked her mom to pleeeeeease buy her a ticket. The kid had more morals than the mom.
There's a thread over on the community board about topics that start "fights" on the DIS. I think I'll mosey over and add "lying about kids' ages" to the list if it's not here already!

Love that show!

Wow, I think this is the first Dis thread I've ever seen where everyone tells OP to do the 'right' or 'moral' thing! I remember several threads of many, many pages with people arguing (on a different topic) that what they were doing wasn't breaking the rules but just taking advantage of a loophole!![]()
I can't watch that show. It's too disturbing. The original L&O--no problem Any of the spin-offs--no worries. That particular show--makes me has a sad...![]()

I've never seen a bunch of meaner, more morally "superior" people. Okay, the OP was asking something against the rules. A simple "it's against the rules, and they do check" would do. Insinuating that she is obviously too poor to go, is a horrible person who will clearly ruin her daughter, and is not nearly as good a mother as YOU are is ridiculous, and a symptom of the crap I see on this board all the time lately. Those of you who jumped on the "horrible role model" bandwagon have really honestly never done anything ever that would be considered not 100% legit? Because I bet that in itself is a lie. I am so over this. I read the boards for information, but I no longer post because no matter what you say or how you phrase it somebody gets up on a high horse and looks down. Arg.
To me, it's about Karma. Somehow, it will come back to bite you in the butt!
