My bad, thought they were Nationally known. They are the organization in NJ teachers are expected to report possible cases of parental abuse/negligence to.

Of course not, I didn't say that. We were all new once obviously. There just seem to be many that come in with a pick a fight, know it all, attitude. The chip on the shoulder demeanor that comes across.

I've never seen a bunch of meaner, more morally "superior" people. Okay, the OP was asking something against the rules. A simple "it's against the rules, and they do check" would do. Insinuating that she is obviously too poor to go, is a horrible person who will clearly ruin her daughter, and is not nearly as good a mother as YOU are is ridiculous, and a symptom of the crap I see on this board all the time lately. Those of you who jumped on the "horrible role model" bandwagon have really honestly never done anything ever that would be considered not 100% legit? Because I bet that in itself is a lie.

I am so over this. I read the boards for information, but I no longer post because no matter what you say or how you phrase it somebody gets up on a high horse and looks down. Arg.

Oh there are plenty of posters with the title "DIS Veteran" that are complete jerks. Let's not single out the new people. I've seen plenty of smart *** remarks made by veterans.

Message boards can bring out the worst in humanity. Many people have the potential to act like an a** given the opportunity, especially when they can hide behind a computer screen.

I am sure that had this thread started with "where can I get the best discount on a child's ticket?" there would be no major drama. However it didn't start that way and we ended up here. Yes, I guess the morality police are out, myself included, because the premise posted was clearly wrong. There is no gray area about lying and stealing from someone. None.

With that said, OP my apologies about my savings comment. It just honestly never entered my mind that someone with solid financial footing would be willing to go down a not so cool path looking to keep from paying.

As to the above comment about role models, mistakes, etc. Yes, we have all made mistakes/poor decisions etc. The difference lies in the fact that I and many, many others have never made those mistakes willingly in the presence of our little ones and with obvious foreknowledge about what we were doing.

I frequent a lot of boards. There may not be swearing or out right name calling, but this really is the meanest board I've ever been part of. How disappointing that it's Disney-related.
