Daughter got ears pierced but she is afraid to take them out

when my DD got her ears pierced, that particular pair of earrings she got was much more difficult to take out than any other pair.

Also wanted to point out on the topic of skin growing over a pair of earrings---it can happen any time you leave a pair in for too long without cleaning/turning them. My mother has had her ears pierced for over 50 years and just this year left a pair of earrings in for a few weeks without touching them and yep, the skin grew over the backings!

I had my first set of earings done at 5 years old. (I have 4 in each ear, btw) If I take any of mine out they start to close within hours. I have diamond dtuds in all 4 sets and take them out only to have my earrings cleaned and then they go back in.

If they can turn, are free of redness, swelling or drainage, then there isn't any need to remove them. The posts used are hypoallergenic and are (for most people) the most allergin free metals they will have int her ears. If she is afraid of them hurting, did she seem very upset at the time of having them done?

Maybe she is associating the discomfort of having them done with removing them, thinking it will hurt again to take them out or put them back in. Also, as a PP offered, she could have dried drainage or scabs adhered to her post and they are pulling from the inside. Even if they can spin, it could be a internal scab that is oriented at an angle so it only pulls when they are trying to come out.

Yes, they hurt, Sunday March 15, 2015 was 6 weeks, I'm 13 and one of them hurts a lot, its because I lay on it when I sleep, I've changed them and it does hurt to take them out and even more to put them in, just let her choose to take them out or not, Clean them daily morning and night, Don't worry about it.Hope this helps , with all the other answers.
