dates of special AAA code - any past 11/26

:) about the AAA code. I saved approx. 215.00 more. I was told it was applied to AAA packages with the dining option. We are staying at Carribbean Beach for 7 nights/8 day park hopper + dining. Dec 16-23 2 adults, 5 kids between 10-17 and 1 3-9. We have two rooms. I just wondered what the difference is between the packages that are getting 500.00+ off with the code and the packages that are getting the minimum. I guess its a breakdown of some sort. It can't be dining because I have 7 people that I paying the full price for and recieved very little discount. That is why I think I am confused with dining discount! My AAA TA is very nice but I am not sure what exactly to say to her without offending her and making her think she is not doing her job...just wondering WHAT code she used!

Thanks for all the help!
Kelly

Going 11/24-12/4 staying at POR on the dining plan.

Just got off the phone w/AAA. Applied the new package code to my ressie and saved an additional $500. Although they did charge me a bogus $50

fee.

??? so this $500 is in Addition to the AAA discount you got originally by making reserv thru AAA?

I will call my AAA TA on Monday and ask her what the code or name for the dinning package that she added to my package is. All I know is she added dinning for 2 adults for 10 nights for $580.44.

Kellyg403, I too would like to know about the AAA code that some people are talking about that saved them $500+. If there is another code out there my TA should be using I would love to know. So far, from what the WDW online reservation says, my package is costing about $450 less. Is there something that I am missing? If anyone knows please share.

I will post Monday night when I get home from work what my AAA TA says about my dining package so others with AAA can ask their TA's.

appreciate it babar41! I just don't know if I am confused or what. I know that the discount I got with the new code WAS with the AAA discount, I think! I got to thinking that maybe I had a larger discount with the new code and the difference was the 215 so it seemed like the AAA AND the new code but is actually ONLY the new code. Does that make any sense at all?

:confused3

I would really like to know about the dining discount too. When they quoted me rates, the difference between the YQC and YQE was the same as the full price dining. We just stuck with our package as booked - with regular AAA discounts because we would have had to switch resorts to get new rates and then would have saved less than $100 total. BUT.....we did just add dining and if there is ANY way to discount that that could make a huge difference. How can we find out if this is for real? :confused3
Thanks!
Jen (crossing my fingers)

If you got the new discounted package, it isn't on top of a AAA discount. When your TA calls CRO the CRO agent can't book the new discount and your AAA discount. I am not sure, but maybe the dining discount is for AAA members only. I looked up greatbooks vacation dates on the TA website and got the same price before dining. Would love to know what your TA has to say. :confused3

I think was everyone is referring to is the discount codes that came out on the 29th. There is one for a plain package (YQC)and one for the package with dining(YQE). Mousesavers.com has the details.

Aside:
Yes jrogers it was in addition to. My original ressie came to $3133 for 10 nights + 4day base tix (2 adults, 2 kids) W/ dining -that included the room discount AAA supplies. I called yesterday (my agent wasn't there so I talked to some new girl  ) to apply the new code and it came to $2654($479 savings).
They did add a bogus $50 charge for changing my ressie within the 45 day mark which I will have changed with my reg. TA on Monday because my trip is 60 days out not 45!!

Aside from my aside:
I wont deal with AAA again. I did all the work myself and this fee is REALLY bugging me.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

Asiding again (sorry)
Bottom line is I saved approx $750 from my original quote with no discounts. At this point I'm not sure who supplied what discount but I dont much care as long as it keeps my DH quiet!!! ;)

Agotta is correct. This is my also my understanding of the discount packages. These were my quotes for identical dates/accomodations/tickets:
Disney pre-code: $1801.24
AAA pre-code: $1623.24
Disney AND AAA with code: $1531.44

So you see, I did get a further discount with AAA (because there was availability), but it is the same quote as the current code with Disney. I think people are getting confused over semantics. Availability is the key, however. If you call AAA and there is currently no availability for the code for your dates/resort, then the AAA TA can't give you a further discount to match. You will need to change something. I think that is what is happening when people say they have called their TAs and were not able to add the code "on top of" a previous booking. Do keep checking back, though, because something (different from the package) that was not available for me one afternoon, turned up available (someone cancelled) the next morning. My guess is there will be new availability for many, 14 days or so out from the day the codes were released (which is the day the deposit is due to hold reservations).

The hint at a dining discount through AAA is something new to the mix and thanks babar41 for checking on that for us!

From what I'm reading the discounts are not that significant for the values good at the mods and better at the deluxes but availabilty at the dlx are slim to none.

The bottom line discount IS the same no matter who you book through but my ressie was already booked through AAA with 15% discount because I was afraid there would be no codes this year (phwew!).
I then applied the code which brought it down even further, but to those of you who are booking now you will get the same discount through Disney so dont bother with AAA.

I hope I am not asking for something that is posted here and I cannot find it. I am sort of new and I could use all your help.

I have a package booked for 12/6 - 12/13 with AAA. I see some of you are getting a discount above AAA on dining. If it is possible can someone send me the code for this. My AAA agent is not very "Disney friendly" for some reason and doesn't understand the codes. Or am I not understanding what is going on either. Please help.

Thank you so much.

Where are you staying that you were able to apply the code to get more of a discount? My AAA agent is telling me it is not possible. I understand "availability" is a factor, but she didn't mention that. Are you using the codes from Disney or is there a AAA code??

Thanks for your help.

AAA doesn't get special codes. It is either a AAA discount or a Disney Special or code (that AAA would use). I think the only confusing thing is the dining discount that greatbooks said they got.

juljenann,
I believe I misspoke when I said my discount was ontop of the discount AAA provides-what I meant was this new code discounted my package further but the bottom line would be the same regardless of whether I used AAA or went through Disney.

I agree that there is NO special code provided by AAA. They are using they same code Disney released last week. Disney sets aside an alloted amount of discounted rooms per hotel for the code. If you are unable to apply the code to your existing ressie that means there arent any rooms left at that PARTICULAR hotel for that code.
However I am having trust issues w/AAA so I would call CRO just to see for yourself if there is availability left at your hotel. If there isnt consider switching hotels or change your dates if possible.
The discounts are better at the moderates and some deluxes than at the values. I am staying at POR 11/24-12/4 which has one of the best rates going so far.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the info. By any chance did you check to see online if you booked this pkg using the online discount what it would of come out to be???

That's what is bugging me. I got online to see what my existing package would be if I ordered a new reservation online with the new YQE discount.
Well it came out to be $3165.70.

I had this pkg with a AAA discount for $3322.13 - $171 off of regular rack rate. (4 nights, 3 Adult +1 child, 5 day Hopper, and dining plan). When I called my AAA TA with the AAA code for this new package, she called back with the new rate after applying this code to my reserv. She told me she got an additional $156 off my package and that the total now was $3165.70!! That's the same rate as online. I had figured I would get a little bit more off because of being a AAA member??? Total discount off of whole package is $327. So I'm wondering if something is not right and I should get more?

AAA is using the same exact discount code as Disney. Thats why its the same. There is no special code that AAA is using. And you will not get the AAA member discount ontop of the package discount. They will only apply one or the other. When I said I got it in addition to my AAA discount I misspoke. Technically my discount is a Disney discount not a AAA discount.

With no discount my total was approx 3400/ with AAA member discount my total was 3133/ with the package code my total was 2654--BUT I would have gotten the 2654 total regardless of who I booked through because the code is open to the general public.

And like I said discounts vary per hotel. It depends on how many Disney had to get rid of. Some had a lot of rooms left so they discounted them deeper than the ones that only had a few. I dont know where you are staying but I have a feeling thats why you didnt get much of a discount.

Can someone tell me how you can check out the codes on the Disney website?I don't see a way to do it and I prefer to do that over callling.
Thanks!!! :)
