DH and I get to have a date night in WDW during our trip in January. During the day we'll spend it at AK with the family then we'll get to go out just the two of us for the evening. We'll have park hoppers so we can go to a different park. Where would you go to dinner and what would you do? I need awesome creative ideas!

Last time we went, DH and I just went out to dinner at Kona, then walked around the Poly. But we were nervous about leaving our daughter too long. This time we're leaving both dd and ds at Sandcastle club and heading to Epcot. We'll be lucky, because it's food and wine but I think that would make a great date night with or without F&W - wandering around the world.

I second the PP. A night time stroll around World Showcase is amazingly romantic, followed by Illuminations. Go to dinner (read: get ADR) for one of the table service places in one of the countries (depending on what you like. If you're a fan of hibachi the place upstairs in Japan is great), then spend the rest of the park hours strolling around, drinks in hand, just enjoying the sights and sounds. Leave enough time to leisurely walk through, but since DAK closes at 5/6 you should be fine.

Wishes from the Poly beach is amazing too. Get a few drinks somewhere (or not, if that's what you prefer), settle down on the Poly beach, and wait for the fireworks to start. Amazing.

DH and I like to grab a drink and sit by the water in DTD. There is a bar that is right by the big hot air balloon just before you cross into "pleasure island" ... it is pretty at night.

Hmmm... just some thoughts...

Peruse the "kiss and cuddle rides" thread. If you're going for romance, you'll want some time to just sit close together.

2) IMO, the best dining for a date at Disney would be at one of the resorts or at Epcot, but it depends on whether you want the meal to set the mood or let the park do it. Depending on the timing, you could dine at Epcot (I personally find the San Angel Inn to be the most romantic setting there, but YMMV) and then head over to MK for some of the cuddly rides, followed by Wishes.

Definitely do a fireworks show like Wishes (if you choose MK) or Illuminations (Epcot)... There's nothing quite like holding your sweetie close while watching stuff explode.

I would start with predinner drinks at Mizners on the mezzanine at GF. Watch the sun go down. Then dinner at Victoria and Alberts for a long, leisurely, lovely grown up meal. Then a stroll around the grounds before heading home.

We went a few Decembers ago pre kids and the best thing we did was margaritas on the water right outside Mexico in WS. Sit. Relax. Exhale. Go to one of the parks you want to ride something you can't with kids. (or hold hands on a roller coaster you normally have to split up). Have fun whatever you decide!!

I would second the World Showcase idea. Personally, DGF and I love the San Angel Inn, not so much for its food, but because we find it romantic. The whole Mexico pavilion is romantic to us. Then a stroll around the lake stopping in and seeing fun things in each country as we please. The WS at night is beautiful.

Also, Liberty Square and Frontier Land in the Magic Kingdom are lit up very romantically at night and DGF and I love to stroll around there in the evening. Favorite place in the parks to be, in my opinion. So if you can get a decent dinner around MK, and head back into the park afterwards you can stroll around while it's cutely lit, and then get cozy for Wishes.

If you're going in January, it may be chilly in the evening, so cuddling might be a necessity.

For my wife and I, it would definitely be a nice dinner (could go with a Signature restaurant or one of our World Showcase faves),strolling the WS , nd end the night with Illuminations. We'd let the post-show crowd clear and take our sweet time leaving the park.

Certainly dinner and a stroll around the WS make for a spectacular date for my husband and I (my parents are usually in the World with us and give us a date night on most trips.)

Another great idea is to get tickets for LaNouba. This show is spectacular and should be seen by everyone - at least once. A little pricey for me to take the young kids - but more than worth it for just the two of us. And then there's a whole world of restaurants in the downtown disney area!!!!

Have fun!

We also like doing "date night" on the night after doing Animal Kingdom. We don't have kids, so that's not an issue for us, but we like taking a night off from the parks (also, we don't have a choice, since we don't do park hoppers).

Typically we go to one of the resorts for a nice dinner. Last trip we used that night for a FANTASTIC dinner at Victoria & Albert's. This trip we're going to go over to Yachtsman Steakhouse. If it was my date night, I'd forgo the park and just do a nice romantic dinner at one of the resorts.

Enjoy!

I'd choose to dress up for a lovely Cali Grill meal and then beach time at the Poly- hammocks are fun to cuddle in and watch the water parade or Wishes. And dole whips. Mmmmmm.

Or we'd pick a restaurant at EPCOT and then watch illuminations.

V&A and then Epcot for Illuminations (hopefully on an EMH). Best date ever, my husband and I are never disappointed!

If not V&A, try Bistro de Paris and then Illuminations.

Enjoy!

Get a late reservation at an Epcot restaurant....we usually do Chefs de France and then walk around while Illuminations is going on. No tussling for a spot. Just enjoy it all. Let Illuminations end and walk slowly being the last of those to leave the park....don't hurry. It's wonderfully quiet, romantic and a nice stroll together. We've done it for years and it is just so wonderful.

I want to take DW to dive the living seas!!! but she wont with the 2 little ones. and only us going. maybe next year. planing for it and havent left for this trip yet lol.

We make it a point to hire a sitter and have a night out on every vacation. At Disney my favorite option is to do it on a Friday night during Epcot EMH. We plan a dinner option and then do the Wine Walk or just wander WS with a drink. We also did Party for the Senses once during F&W.
