Hi,
We are going to disneyland december 22nd - the 28th. It looks like we will be able to have a date night while there since my mother in law is going. My question is Which location would you go to? I have always wanted to eat at the blue bayou since i think it would be so nice and i love the pirates ride. I am now starting to reconsider due to all the reviews i have read about the food being soso.

Where would you go for a nice sit down meal with out kids in DL/DCA/DTD?
Thanks,

Carthay or Napa Rose-def not Blue bayou. For one thing, I want a glass of wine with my romantic meal, and I want some really good food, as we don't get out much :)

Blue Bayou can be really nice, but why not do it with the kid?

Napa Rose is the best. Carthay Circle is number two, and Steakhoue 55 coming in third. All are nice meals and places to eat on a night alone.

Sara couldn't have said it better in my opinion. :thumbsup2
Blue Bayou is something to experience at some point, but I would bring the kids along with that meal. I have enjoyed the food I have had there.
Napa would be the ultimate....Carthay Circle and Steakhouse55 would be a nice meal as well.

I personally don't think there's a better date night than the chef's table at Napa Rose...and around the holidays?!?!

DH and I have not done this yet, but are planning to kick off our DLR trip next year with a trip to the Chef's Table. I am beyond excited.

I think the atmosphere of Blue Bayou makes it great for a date night, but I guess if your kids are old enough to enjoy it you might want to take them, as mentioned by others.

I went in February for our post-Valentine date and I thought the food was good. I remember the rolls being amazing. I found it to be a good date, but if you want "more fancy", Napa Rose might be better. Especially if you want wine.

I've never been to Steakhouse55 but I remember making a reservation there for my parents' anniversary one year, and they said it was perfect.

I loved the blue bayou. The atmosphere was great I had steak and that was fantastic. The creme brulee was a great desert and I enjoyed myself alot.

Steak house and club 33 overpriced for what you get.

I haven't eaten at the napa rose and my parents loved carthay theature.

I was like you people gave the blue bayou bad reviews but I have to say I really enjoyed myself.

My kids are young they will be 3 and 4 1/2. I do not find blue bayou appropriate for them. We are also not worried about the wine since my husband and I do not drink. Are most important thing is we would like good food. But in the back of my mind I keep thinking blue bayou since I have always wanted to go there but I don't want to go and when we are done with our meal regret going. Thanks for the input.

If you've always wanted to do BB, go for it. We did it many years ago and found the food so-so. I/we didn't really like the whole 'eating in the ride' thing. Frankly, it was a bit dank and odd for us. We won't do it again, but I think if I hadn't, I'd always want to.

I vote for Napa Rose. Forget the wine, leave it out, the food is out of this world! I've had the filet twice, two different presentations, and it was incredible both times. So was every single other thing we ordered. We were really impressed!

If you are a Disneyland fanatic, you have to try the Blue Bayou at least once. To me, the atmosphere is the primary reason to try it. If you are looking for a 5-Star dining experience, I don't think you will find it in the parks.

I would absolutely do BB, but I'd do it for lunch and take the kid with me. :) BB is a great family restaurant and even tho some say the food is "so-so" I've always enjoyed what I've ordered. I didn't like the ribs DD ordered that much but neither did she and so as the Mom I sucked it up and gave her half my chicken and ate half her ribs. LOL :)

I think for date night I'd do Carthay Circle or Napa Rose, I'd probably with CCT to be honest. I very much enjoyed my meal there earlier this month. :)

Having just done BB for the first time, I wouldn't do it for a date night dinner. If you're tied to the park area, I'd look to the other three already mentioned.

We also did Steakhouse 55 and it was a very good meal. Much more relaxed and removed setting. BB felt like we were being rushed. Get em in, get em out. Exact opposite at Steakhouse 55. Also, the comment about it being overpriced is absurd. The prices at Steakhouse 55 are right in line with what you would find at any other high end steakhouse.

I would do Napa Rose for date night.
The last few times I've been to BB there have been lots of cranky whiny kids(including mine), not making for a nice romantic experience.

We personally love WCT for the WOC dining package and viewing for our date nights. My DBF has labeled WCT his favorite restaurant at the resort.
