What are the crowds like Dec. 17th thru 23rd vs. March 8th thru 14th? I am guessing it will be less crowded at the Fort, but what about the parks.? I tried to find the crowd level info but to no avail. Thanks

According to Allears, both are listed as high if you consider March 8-14 mid-March. http://allears.net/pl/attend.htm

Disney states:

The Lowest Attendance --
January (except New Year's Day) until just prior to Presidents' Week in February
The week following Labor Day until the week prior to Thanksgiving
The week following Thanksgiving until mid-December

More Moderate Attendance:
After Presidents' week in February through early March
Late April through early June (except Memorial Day weekend)
Columbus Day Weekend (October)
The first part of Thanksgiving week

Highest Attendance:
Presidents' week in February
Mid March through Late April ("Spring Break")
Memorial Day weekend
Mid June through Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day and weekend
Christmas week through New Year's Day

Are you looking at Dec. 2010 and March 2011? Remember, Easter moves around each year. In 2011 Easter is late, so the March dates you list won't be too crazy. I would guess December would be a little busier. But, December also means you would get to enjoy all of the Christmas and holiday decorations at the Fort and theme parks. These really add to the magic.

If you opt for December, I would try and get your "must-do" list completed as early in the trip as possible. The closer you get to Christmas, the more the crowds will start to stack up in the parks.

We have been at Christmas before just not that close to Christmas. We love the decorations and we were really looking forward to our first time at the FT. at Christmas for more decorations. We still have those dates booked, but we found out that our boys will be going in March with their school. We were thinking instead of paying for our boys to go 2xs within a few months that we could just move our trip to half family trip half school trip. Also on a selfish side we could loop with our DD's without having to take turns with the DS's.
