Hey quick question. Went with my friend and her daughter (who uses a das) we had gotten a return time for thunder mountain and then went over to pirates. Pirates was a 10 min wait. daughter showed them her pass and they said she couldn't go through this line unless they crossed off Thunder Mountain. Is that correct? It was her first time using it. Some let her through and this one didn't ( which is fine) just looking for a straight answer.

You can't have more than one DAS time at a time so he is correct. You could have gone through the standby line if you had not shown DAS.

That is surprising to me as well. I understood it to be that you could enter alt. exit/FP line is the SB time was 10 minutes or less immediately, without using a DAS time...

But why would one need to use the FP queue when the wait for SB is only 10 minutes? And if the DAS is already marked for one SB wait minus 10, how can one get the standby -10 benefit of a second queue without using the first one, as per Disney policy?

That is true provided you do not already have a DAS time.

They wouldn't write a new DAS time for something 10 or less and would just let you in the FP line provided you don't have another return time.

Just go through the regular line if it's 10 minutes or less and you're waiting for something else using the DAS.

But could someone please give a dummies guide of using das-
And how it differs from gac.

Our maximum sb time is 15 minutes-but ideally less.

Well, there are other reasons for wanting alt. entry - to avoid the interactive lines, or other parts of a line, or stairs...I think its strange, with virtually no wait, they wouldn't let you enter FP line.

Well I know at universal you can have a time written and then go in their fp line if it's 30 and under. I thought if it's 10 minutes you went through (without writing on the card) because if you take 10 away from 10.. That's 0. It wasn't a big deal and we did go stand by. It actually took us about 20 minutes but still ended up fine. We both had no clue as to what was 'right'

That would be something to address with the CM at the front of the line. Doesn't really have anything to do with the procedure of the DAS.

Yes. If you walked up to get a return time they'd let you right in. They won't write a time on just to cross it off instantly. It's not like Universal where the card allows for access while waiting. It's essentially no longer useable while a return time is active.

If the CM lets someone through the FP line I think it's nice, but not to be expected.
