Just curious if anyone has used DAS in these first few days since the park reopened. Any changes since before the parks closed? Are the blue umbrellas still where you get return times and are they in the same spots?

(And for those who don't know DAS is the disability access service)

I looked at the map in the Disneyland app and it looks like the tomorrowland kiosk moved. At least from when we were there in January 2020. It’s more towards Star Wars launch bay now instead of across from star traders.

My son will be in a boot cast when we go to the parks. He cannot stand for long periods of time. Actually, short periods are painful. How do I go about getting him a wheelchair for the 2 park days and getting a DAS pass? This is all new to me. Any info is appreciated.

A wheelchair can be rented at the park. With a wheelchair, you will not need a DAS. A DAS is designed for someone with issues that cannot be mitigated with the use of a wheelchair/ECV.

Oh cool...he'll be more comfortable in a wheelchair. Thank you! Now I don't need to waste time at Guest Services trying to get a DAS.

If you are staying off property, you might check other places about having a WC delivered as it will be a little cheaper, and then you will have the chair to get to and from the park. If you are staying at the Grand, try calling ahead to see if you can rent one at the hotel so you can take it back to the room.

ETA - I use Deckert's Surgical for our WC and ECV needs.

Many of the guest relations kiosks have moved. Actually, almost all of them have. They are mainly in the same general area, usually across from where they were before.

We are staying at the Grand so I will give them a call. Thank you!

Interesting. I know in DCA, they all seemed to be in the same spot. In DL, the one in Tomorrowland was by the Launchbay instead of across from the Star Tours Store. The NOS location and the Main St location were in the same area they were a year ago in Feb. The one I didn't see (didn't look) was the one in Fantasyland.

Fantasyland one is over near Tea Cups now.

Also, the one in DCA at Carsland moved across the walkway rather than being next to the entrance of the land.

Also, the Main Street one was also across the street from where it used to be. It used to be near Jolly Holiday and is now closer to Plaza Inn.

I had a hard time finding the one near Toy Story Midway Mania also. Part of it is that there are SO many umbrellas around and the kiosks don't all have blue umbrellas, some have green, and some red. But with so many umbrellas added everywhere, it's hard to pick out the kiosks sometimes. I walked right by the spot where I thought the Toy Story one should be and didn't see it. It had moved a bit further down.

The Main Street Kiosk was by Plaza Inn before the parks closed.
I knew they moved it and the Fantasyland one (closer to Mr. Toads) back at Christmas 2019 or Jan 2020. And the Paradise Pier one was moved near the TSMM FP area about that time.

I knew the TSMM one has moved, but it was still not exactly in the same place it used to be. It is closer to the entrance to Incredicoaster now, beyond the carousel.

My mom can’t do stairs. Can she get a DAS for rides like Indy, Racers and Toy Story midway mania so she can go an alternate way? Standing and waiting is no issue.

A DAS is not necessary to avoid stairs. You just need to notify a cast member when you get in line that your mom can’t do stairs, and they will send you an alternative way.

Stairs are fairly easy, just tell the cast member. Once you get to the loading area, they will divert you to the HA area (just like a WC) for Racers and TSMM, and there won't be stairs. Also remember this on Small World, if you don't say something before you board, you could end up on the wrong side and not be able to avoid stairs. On Indy, when you reach the stairs, they will divert you to the elevator. If they are using the Jungle Cruise queue, they will likely give you a return time.

Also, be aware on Big Thunder, should the ride E-Stop, you could have to walk down a path of rock stairs.

Just double checking I’m a full time wheeler, I don’t ride that many rides at my age as the transfers can be grueling, there are some I ride like TSMM in a special car of which there is only one. Do I need a GAS pass to get a return ticket or in my circumstances is it unnecessary?

The following info is all pre-COVID. I'm not sure if anything has changed since COVID; hopefully someone else will speak up if things have changed.

You won't need a DAS pass if you're using an ECV/wheelchair/power chair. I used a power chair on my last trip and didn't have a DAS pass.

In DCA most (all?) queues are mainstreamed (wider) so that everyone can go through the queue. There may be a separate boarding area at the end - such as what TSMM has where they pull off the accessible cars to allow more loading time. A CM will direct you if there's a separate boarding area.

In Disneyland you go to an attraction and look for a CM who will give you a return time, which is tied to your account on the Disneyland app. This is similar to FastPass/MaxPass (although it's free) for attractions where the queues are not wide enough or they have stairs or other obstacles for ECVs and wheelchairs. Basically you wait the same amount of time as anyone in the queue, but you come back to a separate entrance that avoids the queue. You can only have one return time on your account at a time.
