Thanks, I was wondering how the VQ rides will work without FP. Ideally I’d love to wait for my family after the pre-shows. I know the pre-shows are the merge point for GOTG, what is the merge point for Tron? The room with the magic window or the lockers or ??
I was not able to skip the pre-shows in Guardians (I asked). I waited with my family and entered the rooms last. We went far left. After each pre-show we waited for the room to clear and we were the last people to exit. I remember when that ride first opened, they did allow me to skip the pre shows… But I ask every year and they are now unable to accommodate that request. I do not watch the pre-shows. I literally look at my phone and play a game the entire time so I’m not exactly sure what’s happening on the screen in front of me lol! For Tron I did have to go through the tight hallway (but no one was in it so I walked right through). I also walked right through the room with the magic window with no one else in it. I met my family at the beginning of the lockers. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the additional information for each ride— it is very helpful. My family will be less annoyed about waiting for me if the merge happens in the AC locker corridor instead of outside the entry to the building. Do you know if WiFi or cell reception has gotten better inside the queues? It’s been pretty terrible in the past and I suspected they were deliberately jamming it.

That’s a great question, but I’m sorry I don’t know. We generally don’t connect to park WiFi in the queues. The game I play does not require WiFi and I have it specifically in case there is no WiFi connection available.

Also I had no issue with the face time call. We have Verizon mobile data.

Finally called for our Disneyland trip coming up in a few days. There was no wait at all! I was immediately connected with a CM today (Sunday) right at open. I was ready for a 3+ hour wait!!!

First time DAS applicate or have had DAS in the past?
- Have applied a few times at WDW. First time applying at DL.

If it is not your first time, did the process go differently?
- There were maybe 4-5 questions whereas in the past there would be 1-2. The CM was in a call center and you could hear other conversations. They asked about whether I had a current DAS for WDW since I had said in the chat I used it there before.

Approved for DAS? Give other options?
- I was approved for DAS. No other options presented. Links shared for additional accommodation information.

A question please. I was denied DAS 2 years ago. Made the trip extremely hard. WDW has always been my favorite place. My children are forcing me to go back.
Here’s my question , do I have to get preapproved in order to request a return time from the CMs at each attraction. I will have genie plus I am just no longer mentally capable of using it alone. I was hoping to break off from the kids for a while.

You will likely be told that you (and party) have to at least attempt the enter the queue (AQR), as what you are describing (RTQ) is supposed to be used very rarely. But ask the CM at the ride entrance before entering the line what the procedure will be if you need to exit, as it varies by ride, crowd level, party size, etc.

No, there's no preapproval for that, but it is not a guaranteed thing. You can go to a CM at the ride, explain your circumstance, and they will decide whether to give you a return time or ask you and your party to try the line first. Be prepared to try the line, as return times are harder to get.

Thank you
if requested it’ll just be me and if they turn me down that’s OK too but it’s nice to know I can try

I wanted to share my experience as I have appreciated reading others’ experiences.

I requested DAS today for my DS - he has been approved previously at WDW and DL and was approved again today. He is Neurodivergent.

It was a slightly different process - I don’t remember having to download Zoom before even with the video chat. I waited maybe 5 minutes chatting with the cast member prior to the video chat. Similar to others, she asked about his difficulties waiting in line, how we have handled similar situations, and if he has any accommodations (yes). I was nervous, especially trying to explain a situation we’ve encountered but he was quickly approved. I agree that she seemed to be reading from a script and following a process flow.

I’m glad to have this settled so I have a better plan for our upcoming trip!

Which park was this for? I’ve seen zoom mentioned a few times but not always. If this for all chats, I’d need to look into what to do for zoom.

I don't quite understand this part - why would you use it alone? You'd be using it with your family/children.

My understanding is the app is needed if you are using a mobile device, but not if using a laptop or PC. From the website:
  • Guests using a mobile device or tablet will need to download the Zoom application to connect to the video chat.
I know when I use Zoom on my phone it automatically shifts to the app.

For WDW. I was using my phone and I tried just dialing in but it wanted a password so I just (re)downloaded zoom. I didn’t want to get disconnected!

Before the changes, guests were sent a secure video chat link to do the chat.
Zoom was not used previously

Zoom is ONLY mentioned on the WDW website DAS information, not the Disneyland one.

You don’t have to download Zoom. It’ll prompt you to, but there’s a small link that says something like Open in browser. Easily missed.
Were you on a computer?
Zoom is listed for guests using mobile devices or tablets trying to register for WDW. I believe it's available, but optional for guests using computers.

I’m hoping to have a day by myself at the park while everyone’s at the pool so I would have to navigate it by myself. I have early signs of dementia, so my brain doesn’t quite function like yours. I am still trying to stay as independent as possible until that’s no longer an option.

Denied for WDW. Adult solo traveler, nuero issues. Mobile device used to apply, had to download the zoom suddenly when they sent a zoom link but it all worked out fine. Zoom crashed multiple times but I was able to continue going back and getting back in. I talked to the CM and then the medical professional, at all times they were polite and completely professional. I was cautioned at the start of the convo with the CM who qualifies for the program had changed since recently.

ETA: I selected Denied because I do not consider AQR/RTQ an accommodation you can be granted in advance since nothing is noted in your file and anyone can try to use it
