Darn it, points went into the holding account. What do I do now?

Please share your experience with points in the holding account. They will expire the end of May, 2007. We could probably go in the first two weeks of January, but we don't particularly care for that time of year. I would like to use them for May but I'm afraid to wait that long to book because it's so close to the expiration. Can they be used for booking outside of WDW? Has anyone had any luck renting points that are in the holding account? How about Disneyland, can I use them there?

You can use them at Disney hotels I know that.

(I wound up with a BUNCH of points in holding last year because I forgot to cancel a reservation and I have 12 in holding right now because I made a last minute change to a trip... when you are the queen of late booking and changing this happens a lot LOL!)

I really have never had any trouble using them. I did have to use some at POR once. (If I have to do that again I am trying for another moderate, that one depressed me. I really like CBR much better)

We used our holding account points at DL,once at Paradise Pier, and once at the Disneyland Hotel, and once at Grand Californian.
You can only book ressies 60 days from arrival though, when using holding account points.

Thanks, CarolA and Longhairbear. Is the 60 days for hotel ressies or any ressie? I thought I could only make ressies in a 30 day window, which if you have to book air also makes it really difficult.

Booking airfare at 60 days is a hassle,and expensive. We are lucky that we live so close to Disneyland, as are those that are close to WDW to use up those points. That is why wanting a DVC at DLR is so important to us. Should we end up with holdng account points again, we know we can use them more efficiently at DLR, like those that can drive to WDW.
