Daphne's Babies The FINAL Update!

Aw, Pudge is so adorable. But, I have to ask...is the smell bothersome? I know ferrets can have a scent that is pungent...is that an issue?

No. There are a lot of reasons a ferret can smell. Bathing them brings out their natural oils for example. They are like cats, they groom themselves and do'nt need to be bathed, ever. I change their bedding a couple times a week, so my girls usually smell like dryer sheets. :teeth:

Feeding them a healthy diet and keeping their pan clean are other important things (I scoop twice a day). When my mom says she can't smell them I know no one can, because my mom is no a big fan of pets.

I really like the one by Daphnes head too. Too cute for words! Looks like she will be a 'dilute' calico.

After I said that about liking the one near her head I thought "what am I thinking? It's my dilute calico kitten in my signature that just cost me the $150 keyboard repair on my DD's computer!" :rotfl2: I changed my mind...if I were closer and in the market for the kitten, I would take a regular calico. :rotfl:

Funny that you say that because I was thinking that kitten may end up looking alot like your siggie cat. LOL. (not sure about the fur length though)

btw, it would have been cheaper to replace the keyboard!

One of our kittens is a dilute 'tortie' and she ended up being long haired. You really can't tell when they are so young, which will be long or short hair. That shows up many weeks later. (well, unless you have LH purebreeds)

Very interesting, very much like cats. I scoop twice daily too and feed the best quality cat food available...it really DOES make a difference.

I swear I am telling the truth, my mother is the SAME way and even she will admit that you would never know we have any cats, let alone 6, by the smell of our home. All of the cat toys and beds pretty much give it away, LOL!

If I remember her post correctly, it was a notebook computer.

Ah, thanks Mimi, that makes more sense (duh)...sorry.

(OMG, when typed your name the first time, I typed Minime)

Don't feel bad, when I have my fingers positioned incorrectly on the keyboard I type Nunu. :teeth:

Nope, it was an Apple laptop. Venus took about 8-10 keys off and broke them--they couldn't be reattached and the keypad had to be reordered :sad2: That was on Tuesday and then this morning she pulled some keys off of my son's computer (the ones that could be reattached).

Congrats Grammie. They're beauties. I tried to convince my DBF if I could have the first born, and he said no. *sigh* They're all quite beautiful and sweet. Good luck!

The one near Daphne's head in the picture you all were speaking of was the first born, and she is a "dilute" calico - (I have heard it called "pastel" as well?) My Cassie and Emmie are both "dilute" -with Emmie being more of a "Torte" - two colored.

Here is a picture of them both... I think they were stalking a lizard! That love that far side of the pool, no one can get to them. Sometimes their tails lay on the water, and yes, the both have had occasion to fall in the pool!

Daphne has had some try food, and I bought her some wet food at the pet store - one of the natural brands - I forget - they normally all get dry food - but when I put that down for her - she didn't care that one of the babies was latched on - she stood up to eat!!! She also loves canteloupe - as do my other two cats, and I will make sure she gets her treat tomorrow morning.

We have a two pet per household rule in my development,

OMG.. we would be in so much trouble in your development! Besides the 4 dogs, you can see by this thread that we are currently violating that rule over and over again on a bimonthly basis! :rotfl2:

The kittens are adorable!!

LOL, you know, you CAN see that bad kitty twinkle in her eye...kind of like "I will stun you with my beauty, you will be so confused you will not notice the havoc I create in your life!!! bwaaahaahhaa!"

Okay, I will be in Disney World in 9 weeks, and I have promised my boys a kitten this summer. So..................sticking with the twice as nice theory..........can we figure out a way for me to get two of your babies? Let's see, would they let them both go in a carrier together on the plane? Will you let go of that dilute calico at all? She and one of her tiger brothers would be perfect for us! We should keep them in the DIS family, don't you think? And of course, spaying and neutering would be done just as quickly as the vet gives the go ahead! Don't need any inbreeding like the lady with the birds!

Just dreaming. I do want a kitten this summer, and dh isn't saying no anymore. I say it's for the kids, but I so miss cats..........haven't had any since I was a kid. I grew up on a farm, so hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats is how I grew up. Babies everywhere. Some we didn't find in time and they'd be feral. Usually I scouted them out as soon as the "fat" mama didn't turn up for dinner. I do miss them. We had no purebreeds of course, but we had ones that looked like siamese, with the points when they got older (just white at birth)....lots of different points.......blues, seals....., the tuxedos, plain black, plain white, black-and-white blotched, gray tabbies and solid gray ones.......oh, and one litter of gray and white.....so pretty!

Only once a calico, and I thought it was the most beautiful. I would love another, but dh wants a gray...........so I think the dilute calico might work for both of us. My oldest son REALLY wants an orange (we never had those either).

Have fun with the babies!

I would love for the kitties to go to a DIS family! I know for sure that we WILL NOT be keeping any of them.

The dilute is the one that I feel the most drawn to as well - but they are all just plain sweet. I guess I should go check on them soon - it's been over an hour, but I don't want to disturb Daphne if all is quiet!

I will keep posting pics as they get easier to photograph, so maybe in 6 or 7 weeks, you will be convinced. They are tiny, would easily fit in one carrier under your seat.... :teeth:

Little kittens would easily fit in one carrier under an airline seat. Obviously it would depend on the rules of the airlines, but they allow animals--I just haven't done it to know how it works.

I think 2 kittens would fit, no problem, in a small carrier under an airline seat. Hint, hint to paige! :teeth:
