DAP getting to know you thread!!!

Hi, My name is Teresa and I don't think I am shy. In a crowd I tend to go from person to person making sure everyone is ok and doesn't need anything. I also tend to make weird observations that have nothing to do with the current conversaton. I remember names and faces really well, I just don't put them together correctly. Although, A few of you have permanently etched a spot in my brain and will be hard to forget. I am hoping John makes everyone wear name tags or assigns someone to whisper in my ear when I can't remember someones name :rolleyes1

So if we shake you a lot will your memory get cleared, kinda like an Etch-a-Sketch?:laughing:

And if you are going from person to person asking if everyone is okay or needs something, I will let you know 86 days early, I would like another drink please and where is the bathroom?:goodvibes

Doesn't Don have certain whispering in ear duties as a DIS hubbie?:confused3:confused3

Todd, you are too funny! :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

Maybe I should try that, there are a few things I would like to forget.

I've been meaning to post to this thread since it started- and now here it is 6 pages long!

I have been a Disney fanatic for about 10 years now- and loving every minute of it!
I was always the "online" & "podcast" person in our household for years, but DH is finally getting into the swing of things. Lately he comes home and asks "Did Pete put another Blog up yet??" or "What does Kevin think of this restaurant?":rotfl: He has actually started planning our recent trips before I have!

We live in South Jersey- near Philly- and both work full time. We have been married 26 years and have 2 sons, 19 & 22. The older one is graduating from college a week after DAP- so we will be flying out to Purdue for his ceremony! My youngest is taking a year off and working while he tries to find out what he wants to do. He'd really like to work in WDW- so he is applying for the Career Start program for next fall.

We are DVC Members (since 2000) and AP holders. DH & I bring the kids on some of our Disney adventures, but we probably travel to WDW more without them than with them! In fact, in December, we will be traveling with another couple who will not be bringing their college kids either- 4 adults- no kids for DAP! :woohoo:

We will be attending DAP for the Saturday night event. We were already booked for our vacation that week, thinking it would be Mouse Fest.
But, we also already had a pretty firm itinerary before all the extra-curricular DAP events were announced. We have MVMCP tickets for the 10th, and plans to see YeHaa Bob on the 11th- which is the day we move from VWL to POFQ. Ah well- there is always Saturday's Main Event! :cool1:

I am shy in new situations- but I love meeting people and once I get to know a few people I don't stop talking! DH is pretty quiet, but goes along for the ride without too much whining! :lovestruc

I look forward to meeting everyone in December :santa:- and again on PCC 2.0 :cool2:!

Looking forward to DAP and meeting folks, even if I forget your name.

And yes, I am addicted to dark chocolate.

Looking forward to meeting you too, fellow dark chocolate addict :thumbsup2! I'm munching some right now :goodvibes.

Kristina...first, Happy Birthday! Many years ago, I spent my 32nd year telling everyone I was 33! Well, now I'm 55 (at least for a few more days), and I never make the mistake of adding more years. :goodvibes
Thank you! I think I'm at the age where It's best I give up adding more years, in fact I like the idea of telling everyone I'm 33! I feel about 33 so, why not eh!

I'm also very shy, but most of the time do a good job of hiding how difficult it is for me to be in a group of people. The crazier :goodvibes the group, the more I like it.

I'm fond of the crazy ones myself!

Happy Birthday! :bday::bday:
I look forward to meeting you. :)

Aww, thank you :goodvibes! I'm looking forward to meeting you too ::yes::.

I also get the redness below the neck thing when I drink, however I try to not let that stop me. :rotfl::rotfl:
I get a bit of fatness below my waist whenever I eat, but I try not to let that stop me either. :upsidedow

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Don't stress about the solo thing. I did it for the first time last year. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see you again!
Krissy

Krissy! Can't wait to see you again too :woohoo:! Can you believe it's almost a year already?

And getting married at Disney is still way cool. Not "Ehhh."

That is so not eh. I think it is great.
Thanks GUYS ;)
I believe that if you have described yourself as shy......then you should wear a shirt to DAP that says "SHY....HELP" and Alicia (Cocowum), Stacy (DisneyBridein2K3) and Jen (DVCsince02) and I (DisneyKevin) will rescue you.
Should you attend unlabeled....you're on your own.
I love it! I have a purpose now!!!
You aren't ridiculous. You don't look ridiculous. You don't act ridiculous.
And you aren't always right. I am. :duck:
Y'all crack me up.
Does "y'all" work for you????

I spent a year living with my Grandparents in Iowa, so I could help raise the sheep.

Well, I just finished typing up my reservation transfer form to DU because I really want to come to this and will be most upset if it sell's out before I'm all cleared. I would have done it last week but I've been busy trying to find out about the DCL cruises for 2011.

I'm sure most reservationists are going crazy today because the 2011 cruises open up today. I'm planning on going on the Alaskan cruise and they changed all of the category's. Picking a cabin type wasn't what it used to be. How much is midship vs Deck worth to me? How the heck do I know? My head hurts staring at the new Deck plans.

I am stubborn as a mule and hate to admit I am wrong. At least that is what the first wife told me. Wife #2 seems to have accepted these personal failings.

I have been married at WDW once and honeymooned their twice. Wife #2 has forbidden me from ever staying at the YC since that is where I spent honeymoon #1.

Like many others have already said..I tend to be shy in new situations and I'm bad with remembering names. If there's a t-shirt let me know:
I think my DH is more shy than I am and is also not as Disney obsessed.
I'm not a drinker. Besides my love of Disney, I love the Beatles.
I can't wait to met everyone at DAP. I don't post very much but I do enjoy the Dis.

I'll be at DAP too! I'm a little shy, I don't drink and I'm pretty good at remembering people's names. I also tend to remember random facts about people, which drives my husband crazy b/c of course, I have to share them all with him. I am good at directions, except when it comes to getting around WDW! I have spent a couple months of my life there and I still can't find my way around DHS... It drives my husband crazy and he keeps quizzing me on how to get to certain attractions.

He will also be there - some trivia about him- he has a crazy memory for music and TV. He could sing every TV theme song to you from every show he watched as a child. I can't remember any of that stuff, so that's why I keep him. Oh, and he's tall, which comes in handy for the top shelf...

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone- especially before we all descend onto the boat for PCC 2.0!

So glad you are coming and that we get to meet you so soon!!!

I also see you have boys at the same age difference as mine, although mine are now in their 20's.. Don't worry you will survive them :) I loved being in a house of boys
