Hey all

I just found this thread.
I am thrilled that Drew and Cheryl won. They were great. I thought that Drew came a long way, and really did awesome.

Stacy was great too though, I wouldn't have been surprised if she would have taken it.

Jerry--nice guy, came a long way, but not in the same league as Drew and Chery. (IMO)

I liked Lisa Rinna too, thought she did great.
Master P--torture to watch him. Poor Ashley.

Interesting point about Stacy 'peaking' several weeks ago. I think you have a very valid point. I felt that her recent dances were boring and repeats of other dances. That her steps were slower. When watching professionals dance, I rarely feel like I am watching the same dance over and over but that's the feeling I was getting from Stacy the last couple of weeks. Kind of a "been there, done that". When they showed some of her older footage from the beginning of the show, I think she looks better and more interesting then!

Drew and Cheryl definitely grew as partners. The footage showed that and they definitely deserved to win the 'ugly' trophy. And I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY about it! While Stacy may have scored more perfect 30s, I think Drew's dance routines were more complex, making that 30 even more difficult to get!

Jerry! He was great! DEFINITELY wins most improved! Boy, he just wasn't giving up and resting at all, and I love his partner, Anna. Both of them put a big smile on my face!

It was a nice surprise to have all of the dancers back. Definitely saw why Kenny went home so fast. Master P? uhm.... I won't say anything other than his son's name is Lil' Romeo. Don't want Bow Wow to get a bad name. Mary J was great!!!

I am surprised at how hooked we were by this season. It will be interesting to see if another season of Dancing with the Stars can do the same.

AND....the show WAS way too long.....HOW MANY times can we review things?...............

I was a bit surprised that Stacey got 3rd, but if you do the math of how they weighed the votes, she must have gotten the least amount of Viewer votes. Her fans held that in their hands....NOT the judges. The viewers had equal count with the judges votes. It was split down the middle, right?! At least this show LETS the Judges votes count for something, as opposed to American Idol where it is ALL call in votes. Now, THAT IS a total popularity contest. I love American Idol, but do think sometimes the better singers get booted off too early....... But, do I stop watching it because I don't agree? No.....

Jerry worked his booty off! I SO respet how he grew and handled this whole competition.
Stacey was great at the beginning and did seem to fade a bit at the end. Maybe her foot is the reason..?? Who knows. But, as previouse posters said...this show is about improvement and she stayed about the same. And, IMO, her freestyle dance lost it for her....too elementary! She is capable of much better.

Now, Drew.....he improved from really good to great and "sold" every performance the last few weeks...WOW!

And, he must be on cloud nine with that baby coming anytime! Good for him!

I was shocked about Stacy but can't help but wonder after her "attitude" on Thursday night...did that force people to possibly vote for Jerry or not vote at all) instead of her? She really seemed to have an attitude.

I too think that this latest season of DWTS was fantastic!!! ABC put a lot into in and produced a first rate show. However, like everyone else. They drew it out WAY to long... Milking it for everything they could. And, that might just backfire.

I wanted to comment on the whole popularity contest and 'fan-base' debate. You know, at first, I was thinking along the same lines that many of you are thinking. This is a DANCING competition, not just a popularity contest. Remember how pissed-off we all were when 'P' (for pathetic) made it past elimination for those weeks. But, you know, I think as the show progresses, it kind of goes past that!!! I mean, look at it this way, here virtually EVERYONE on this thread has been going wild about Drew and Cheryl... And, virtualy EVERYONE on this thread has been going on about how Stacy already had so much training, and how it was all about her looks and her legs.... And, good ole 'P' obviously had the biggest existing fan base before the competition even started. But, at some point, that could only take him so far.

Well, guess what... Low and Behold, DREW WON!!!!!
And, guess what... After a lousy 'dance' performance, Stacey was voted off!!!

So, I think that maybe the system is working the way it should after all!


PS: I did not see Jerry Rice going for any sympathy vote.. Now, remember 'P' begging for votes cause he was doing it for the 'hood'. It almost became a joke!! George joked that he was doing for HollywOOD, and Tia said for all women to vote for her because of motherHOOD. LOL!!! So, I don't put much stock in the sympathy theory.

LOL! NO problem, Poohbear123. My family is embarrassed that I even know the difference, especially for someone "my" age.

Cheerbop, don't even get me started on American Idol. I wish I could stop watching it because so many times the better singer is booted because they can't get enough votes. Or perhaps my ear isn't trained enough to appreciate Sway's falsetto over Patrick Hall's voice.

I actually have a good ear for music but sometimes am disappinted in it's outcome. Oh well. Makes for good ratings I guess....

OH! And their "99 billion votes" they get every week.... Why can't they get a clue and limit the calls like every other show!?!?! I will NOT sit up and call a phone # 500,000 times. I DO have a LIFE!

Thrilled Drew and Cheryl won. I REALLY like Cheryl! Stacy. I thought her dancing was good but when she gave her little speech about the other dancers she seemed to forget Cheryl and Anna. She praised Drew and Jerry to the stars but lumped all the pros together and Jerry, Drew and Stacy would not be there without the pros. That really bugged me.

Jerry. He was just not winner material in this event. He is a NICE guy and they are hard to find in this world but his dancing. Sigh.

Anna. I cannot put my finger on it but she is smug in a way that makes me nervous. I never liked her. I wante to like her but I just never did. I like Cheryl and I like Drew. That's important to me. I know it's not what it's about but it is.
