Dancing With the Stars - Spring 2017

Carl Edwards, Jr. He's a pitcher. The pitchers just started a new tradition this weekend and they now dance in the bullpen every time a Cub gets a home run. It's pretty goofy (but fun!): http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2017/05/23/232037264/cubs-bullpen-begins-new-dancing-tradition

KB = Kris Bryant and Rizzo = Anthony Rizzo

Oh, I know who Carl Edwards Jr is, I just didn't make the connection with CJ (and I definitely know KB and Rizzo ;)), and I've seen the bullpen dancing.

I know! My full response was for the non-Cubbie part of the thread ;).

what makes it even cooler that CJ started the dancing is that he was SO quiet when he first got here. I remember Joe being thrilled when CJ wore a graphic (not *graphic* graphic, like a silly one) T-shirt on a road trip last season, lol...knew CJ was going to fit in fine when he saw it.

It's so interesting reading this thread and seeing how everyone interprets things differently. I liked Rashad all season long, but in the beginning I didn't think he'd make it to the finals. I liked David Ross but didn't think he'd be there either. I thought the judges over scored David a lot because they liked him and he was a fan favorite. Ross is definitely a really nice guy, but that doesn't mean he deserved high marks and that Rashad didn't. I think the judges overlooked flaws with both stars, not just one. I think they were harder on Normani than other stars in the competition.

Totally agree!!

Rockette, are you competing? We want a full report! Very cool either way, dancing or watching.

Here's the report:

We competed in Professional Rising Star Latin and did a lot better than I thought we would. I kind of want to gloat as I'm extremely thrilled about our position and how far we've come in the last year or so... but my dance partner got injured doing something stupid celebrating the night after. We won't be competing in the next category up unfortunately.

I don't have that many pics yet, and this is my only unwatermarked version. (pic deleted - PM me if you want to see the album!)

Very cool! How exciting for you! But also disappointing to travel so far and do so well to then have your partner injure himself doing something stupid. I'm struggling to find a silver lining for that, but I can't. Maybe ... he's learned his lesson?

In reality I don't think we would have done nearly as well in the professional grouping. There are a lot of politics once you get to a super high level and we don't take political lessons. Maybe by blind luck only would we have done as well as rising star professional.

This already moved us into the top 48 dancers (24 couples) in the world - so a huge jump for us.

The gossip today is that Julianne and Peta have picked the same dates for their weddings. So now we may truly know who is on Team Fam and Team Hough.

.....well, I FINALLY got the chance to watch the Finale.....shocker that Val didn't win, but I guess it proves that the 'best' one doesn't always capture the mirror ball trophy.

TWO DWTS wedding this weekend.

Maks and Peta tied the knot in Long island, NY. :groom: :bride:

Julianne Hough married NHL star Brooks Laich in Idaho. :groom: :bride:

Here is a video clip that was on GMA this morning of Maks & Peta's wedding. Peta wore two dresses, one for walking down the aisle and one for the reception:

They even somehow got a rainbow to show up for their wedding.
(Sharna posted this on her Instagram: @burgatroydchmerkovskiy along with the one of the cake below.)

Nyle DeMarco, Peta's former dance partner a couple seasons ago, posted this one of her in her ceremony dress, on Twitter:

People magazine has exclusive pics of Julianne's wedding, probably for $$$$. The pics will be in this week's People Magazine coming out on Fri.

This is the only photo People Magazine released:

Accompanying article with some details:

Breakdown of which DWTS friends showed up for which wedding:

Maks & Peta:
Val was best man
Tony was a groomsman
Sharna - bridesmaid
Rumor Willis - bridesmaid

Guests:
Kym & Robert (although since Robert probably has a private plane, they could have made it to both places, especially as the weddings were in different time zones. :teleport: Maybe they were at Maks & Peta's wedding and made it to the tail end of Julianne's reception? :scratchin )

Nyle DeMarco - Peta's former dance partner.
Alan Bersten - who filled in for Maks when he got injured, was there. I hope not on standby in case Maks got injured again.
Candace Cameron Bure - I didn't know she was that good friends with the couple. :confused3
Sasha looks like he's in the cake pic right behind the bride & groom. I assume Emma was there with him.

As for Julianne's wedding, not too many details have been released yet. Derek was a groomsman.
Mark was there, as expected, since he's been such a close friend since childhood.
Sasha and Emma were there.

lol I love how the one dog is giving the other some side eye.

Peta looks beautiful. Julianne's look is a bit underwhelming, imo. I like simplicity in style, but...meh.

I don't think that's Sasha in the cake photo. Don't think they went to either wedding. The only other DWTS person I've seen in any casual photos of Julianne's wedding is Hayley.

:rotfl: That's funny. I didn't even really look at them before. That one dog seems to be saying, "Dude! Wake up and pay attention or we'll be sitting here all day."

I don't think that's Sasha in the cake photo.

Sasha and Emma were at juliannes :)

Okay, I moved Sasha & Emma to Julianne's list. :teacher:

If you guys have other fun pics of the weddings, (I know Sharna had some more on her Instagram,) post away! I hadn't checked anyone else's social media.

I still think it's weird that they had their weddings on the same day and made the DWTS cast and former stars pick whose wedding they would go to.

I usually don't like "fussy" wedding gowns, but Peta carries it off so well! Beautiful! I agree that Julianne's was ho-hum and boring.

I just watched the video ... which one is Jewish? M-M-Maks or Peta or both?
