Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2025

Even the judges realize that some of the contestants have significant dancing experience while most do not. It isn't like the show couldn't find enough celebrities lacking dance experience. I don't see why a reality show about dancing would include pro dancers as contestants.

If somehow Hilaria (and even the Mormon girls and the Influencer girl) gets sent home before Andy and other true novices maybe it will make them think twice about dance experienced people.

No, the producers and judges just blame it on the audience not voting for the ones they want. That even if you think a star is safe because they are so good, they may not be. So VOTE.

There was one female star early on, like around Season 5-ish, who we all thought would make it to the finals. But around Week 7 she was booted off. It shocked everybody, 😲😲😲 as it hadn't previously happened before on the show.

I think DWTS was in the news, on TV talk show segments, and in (early) social media as everyone was talking about how wrong and unfair it was she got voted off. :chat: It was then that the producers realized (if they actually hadn't planned the whole thing, :ssst: ) that they got more unpaid advertising and buzz for the show than if a predictable, not very good star went home as usual.

Maks, (Val's older brother and previous DWTS pro dancer winner with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis,) was on the afternoon segment of GMA today, weighing in with his thoughts. GMA didn't post his whole interview, but posted a couple "shorts."

Maks also mentioned, which didn't make it into the short, that he saw a LOT of pros not putting in enough technique that specific dances require. But, perhaps getting caught up on making the dances look like TikTok videos they are inspired by. (He was talking about YOU, Witney.)

Here is Maks talking about how much harder it for female stars to learn ballroom dancing as, not only do they have to dance everything backwards, but they have to stay in frame for the more traditional dances like the waltz and the foxtrot.

Any of these reality shows where the viewers are part of the voting probably has more to do with the demographics of those who watch compared to the skill of the contestants. Recall a few years ago, some West Coast radio DJ ended up winning when most could see he was clearly NOT the best dancer. He won because he had a huge following outside of the show who voted for him.

I love Robert, Whitney, and Andy. I think the first two have a great chance at winning... Andy not so much but he just seems so sweet.
