Hey.....

:confused3 how do you know when it's time to visit a shrink? :confused3

I can't seem to get out of this rut.... and I'm afraid it's going to get worse before better. Alot of stress between work, home and kids.. plus I miss my mom and feel like crying all the time. Plus my sis is in the hospital and I'm worried about her and my dad who will not leave her because he feels so guilty about not being there for her over the summer when she was in the hospital because my mom was in the hospital at the same time. He needs a break, and I tell him to take a day and go fishing or something, but he says hes afraid if she opens her eyes and doesn't see him there.

My son't communion is in two weeks and the place I was going to have his party is booked.. (my fault for not planning it)... So... since I found out it was booked, I should have been looking at other places, and try to get something, and I didn't do it... Now... it's two weeks away and I still don't have a place.... the longer I wait, the less chance I will have of doing it at all. I thought about postponing the party for a week... is that wrong.. or should it be the same day?? I guess I can just cook, and do stuff at my house, ??? If I do it the following weekend... I can have it on Mother's day.. and then kinda kill two birds with one stone... having a party for my son, and taking the MIL and godmother's out for lunch... (plus maybe it will help keep my mind off my mom)?? Although the day of his actual communion would have been my mom and dad's 50th anniversary... what should I do??

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Talking to someone is a good idea. Make an appt. My daughter can't wait to have health insurance so she can go back to her couselor. She misses it b/c it was so helpful. It made a huge difference for her.

The party should be when you want it. Plan your son's party when it is easiest on you.

daisyyy......

Ok, your first paragraph, hang in there. And yes, I think it's wise to have someone (professional) to talk to. There is no shame in it. I have a dear friend who does this and swears by it, and I know it has helped her immensely.

Your second paragraph: stop stressing the party!!! I know you want a great party for your son and to celebrate such a milestone, but I think this sort of thing should be way more about the actual event being celebrated, having family and close friends around.....there should be no reason to not have it at home, or another family member's. I'm sure HE will be just as happy and as far as anyone else is concerned, their opinion shouldn't matter so if anyone is pressuring you, find a way to politely tell them to back off. You apparently have far more on your plate right now dealing with things you can't necessarily change.....so don't get bogged down and more stressed with something you can change. :grouphug:

So yes, I think it's time to start looking into someone for this. If you can get a personal recommendation that would be great, or just start seeing who's in your area. If you get someone you're not comfortable with, try again.

And remember, WE LOVE YOU!!!!

.

....yes, ABSOLUTELY! :thumbsup2

Mean Queen, I love a good container garden!

PiO, I have booked the two dining ADRs I was able to get. One is lunch with Nana (so we can get away from all the menfolk for a bit) at the Brown Derby, and the other is a big family dinner at O'Hana. Very excited about O'Hana! It means family, you know. ;)

Daisyyy, the anniversary of my mother's passing is in a couple of weeks. It is hard, I went to therapy for about two and half years afterwards. There are some days I could probably still use it. I'm going to PM you.

Hi TK!!!

Don't stress about the party. See a shrink. Sorry about your mom and sis.

Glad you got your ADRs. They both sound great...especially with family.

Thanks! My long shot ADR is Be Our Guest. I'm hoping to eat there on my birthday. Despite calling on my 180 day mark, they were booked solid. Here's hopin' someone cancels! :lmao:

It was such a long shot for me, I didn't even bother to ask for it. I hope someone cancels for you.

Daisyyy - now seems to be the time. You are going through a lot! Having a professional to talk to can really help you work through all that. Don't stress about the party. If it's just you and some friends hanging out around the house with pizza and beer, I'm sure it will still be fun. Don't cause any extra stress for yourself. Mother's day without a mom... (insert many non-DIS friendly words here) stinks. You try to stay happy and enjoy your kids, but it will take a few years before you get a new normal. Don't add extra stress to yourself on that day this year. If you take the easy road for a few things, people will forgive you... and you need to forgive yourself for not being super mom.

TK - I say if you don't get your ADR for Be Our Guest, stand in line for lunch. You still get to have a great meal and enjoy the beauty that is the restaurant. Though it may be a bit of a wait in line. (What isn't at Disney?) And I had no clue that was called a container garden. I have virtually no gardening knowledge.

I got some good news last week, but it hasn't been made official so I can't officially say anything about it on FB. :cool1: My director told me she's going to make me full-time and name me as supervisor of my department. It comes with a small raise, though I will still be making less than all the people I supervise. Three of those 4 guys will be retiring in the next 2 -5 years though, so I'll be hiring cheaper (and harder) workers. Most of the guys will be a little miffed that I'm going to be the direct boss, but the big boss said if they don't like it they can leave. :thumbsup2 I think she's secretly hoping it will make one of them leave. :rotfl2:

I'm considering standing in line, depending on how we feel at the time.

Congratulations Mean Queen! Well done.

Our plan is to eat lunch there if we can't get a dinner ressie. I am fine with either option. And truthfully, may even try to eat lunch there a different day if I do get dinner. I've heard both experiences are wonderful.

Any shot you'll be there during my dates?

October 8 - 14. Actually thinking about adding on a day and leaving the 15th now. I love a good 8 day trip. Also flights for Columbus Day just skyrocketed. I think it's a sign. ;)

I think you better start working on your television degree! You have 2 - 5 years. :thumbsup2

YAY!!! That's exciting.

I should be able to do that. DH and I are thinking of going during that time on a Saturday to do the Party for the Senses without the kids. :cool1:
