It was in the 20's last night. This is getting ridiculous.

Hey nanners!

The countdown to my 5k is on -- just 12 days to go. I ran today and felt my knees for the first time. Not too jazzed about that but I'm hoping it's just a next-day result of some sprints I did yesterday. Tomorrow is a day off so we'll see how I feel on Wednesday. If it's better then I'm going to skip the cross-training bit until after the run.

I'm looking at doing a 5-mile trail run at the end of June. THAT should be interesting! And, hopefully, I may be diving into a half-marathon this fall! I've got a training program all set to start the last week of May. I *can* do this!! I had really wanted to do my first half at WDW but that is just not happening. The one here (in addition to being WAY less expensive!!) is in early October, along one of our lakes mid-state.....Should be beautiful scenery! It'll also be hilly. This is NH, after all.... :scared:

So DH and DS13 head to FL on Thursday to visit my dad and drive home with his truck. I'm looking forward to getting it but sad at the same time. It means my dad has given up driving, and I'm so used to driving that when I visit him; starting my next trip, I have to rent a car and that's just so odd to me! Weather for them looks great, mid- to upper-80s.

Well that's enough of my rambling for one day!! Hope everyone else is doing well! :goodvibes

Good luck with the training. I am no good running up hills. It will be nice to get the truck, but also sad your Dad will no longer be driving.

Tell me about it. :headache: I don't think we went quite that low, but there was heavy frost on the cars this morning.

Enough!!!!!

It was 24 when my husband got up this morning. :( Maybe next week will be better. I'm off to bed where my electric blanket will make it warm.

Crazy-psycho New England weather at its best: high today in our neck of the woods - 48*. High tomorrow - 70*.

Mornin', ladies!

Before I start, PiO: what season is it, for you, right now? Nemo and I have been having big discussions about where you are on the globe compared to us and what that means. Actually, it's been quite a good geography lesson but has also involved our position in the solar system, rotation of the planets, and how that affects the seasons.

Who knew my DIS friends would provide so much dinner table discussion? :lmao:

Legomom, how exciting for your 5K. I have recently started training again, doing the Couch to 5K. I'm on week two, and progressing okay. One day at a time.

Mean Queen, especially Squirt! I mean, he's quite short. As he should be, given that he's only two. He's perfect height for weeding. :thumbsup2

So I'm mildly frustrated in regard to my trip. After deciding a seven day vacation was best, flight prices skyrocketed for our departure day. I can't stomach what it is right now and am hoping it goes down. I've watched it for the past week and it's only gone down slightly which makes me nervous. I know I've got plenty of time, but I'm worried as we're due to leave on Columbus Day and holidays (never mind Mondays) are always higher flight rates.

:::sigh::::

Like I said, frustrating.

And Be Our Guest? Good gracious. It's like the new CRT. Which, ironically, I can get a reservation at, on my birthday. Not that I prefer to eat there, I really wanted to try Be Our Guest. I guess I should just be grateful we got O'Hana. :lmao: I've never been able to score that at a decent time before.

We're in autumn or fall. As we are in the Southern Hemisphere, compared to the Northern Hemisphere, our seasons are reversed.

We mark the start of the seasons on the 1st of the quarter; so winter will commence 1 June.

:thumbsup2

Thank you! :goodvibes

Now I can fully explain it to Nemo. :thumbsup2

It was in the 20's again this morning. :sad2: If you are 70 tomorrow, maybe we will be warmer too.

Be thankful that y'all live where y'all live and not where I live. I scheduled DD for her Driver's Test. May 31, 2013 in the afternoon after school. I could've scheduled her on the 29th but then I would've had to get her out of school. She didn't want that. I hope that she passes the first time because if she doesn't she'll only have 27 days to take it again. I didn't think that it would be so far in the future. Six weeks away. I thought maybe 2-3 weeks.

I think we topped out at 38 yesterday...... Here's hoping for a better today!!

My DS16 is about at that point. Not sure when he'll actually get his license; here in NH you *must* take driver's ed. if you are under 18, but that costs around $500-$600 and we just don't have that right now. He was so sure he'd have his license right after turning 16 and be working and save for a car before he turned 17...... Welcome to the real world, kid!! Fortunately most of his friends are in the same boat, so he doesn't feel like the only one without a license. We let him drive whenever we can, so he's getting in all his required hours at least.

Here, SadieDog, maybe this will provide some hope...it's our 5-day:

Supposed to be 71 here today. I am hoping it hits that. I'm jonesin' for some warm weather and it's Nemo's first day of soccer. It's a lovely little town program that teaches them basic skills, and sometimes they scrimmage against each other.

I'm about 3.5 years away. :faint:

You know how little I read signatures? I just realized PiO has a pre trip report. Heading over! :goodvibes
