Daisyyy - I'm so sorry to hear about your mother.

Heading to FL next week. My dad's church set up a fund to get me a plane ticket, I don't know if I had mentioned that. That is very helpful as I don't otherwise have that kind of $$ right now!! (which just further drives me to start putting a little aside to create an emergency fund).
Anyway, my dad is home, doing ok. His heart issues can only be controlled by medication at this point, as he does not want the surgery (and who can blame him, at his age). I will get to spend a week there visiting, and, Lord willing, will return again as scheduled at the end of Feb. for a long weekend. Day at a time, y'know?

Thank you all so much for your kindness. I am having a difficult time dealing with this, but everyone says it will get easier.
I just can't imagine having New Years in summer.... 100 degrees in January...![]()
All my teams are done.. who's still in it for the SuperBowl???
...and that's the other good one.

I have no idea who all the teams are, but the PATS are still in the running!!!

to Daisyyyy and a yay to LM for getting to see your dad.
A coworker got called by hospice today becuse her mom, who has dementia, is close to the end of her journey. It's one of those 'thank goodness the end is near' and a 'I feel so bad' kinda things.
Thanks PaMom. And on top of my dad's failing physical health, I've got my mom in a nursing home with the whole dementia thing going on too. That one's almost harder to watch progress; watching someone's mind slip away is like losing that person altogether, yet they are still here.![]()

...one of my friend's dad is in the same boat....sometimes he has bouts of rage - she says it's almost too painful to watch....
