It's amazing to me to think that when we go to Disney in October, we won't need any...diapers...at all.

HUGE milestone. My boys are growing up, and although I get a little nostalgic, I'm also loving it.

....until, somewhere down the road, the 'adults' need them.....:teeth:

Please keep a friend of mine and her young son in your purse today. He is young boy and undergoing surgery today. He has a tumor right behind one of his ears. He should be out by tomorrow morning.

....oh my goodness! Prayers your way that all goes well......

[BTW ~ I don't think they'll fit in my purse...:confused3 ]

I honestly don't know where the time goes. Nemo's got two more days of school (not counting today) and then he'll techincally be a 3rd grader. I remember when I started on these boards and he was about 3 years old. CRAZY. Never mind that he's reading the Harry Potter series on his own! I don't know why, but that, for some reason, makes me realize how old he really is.

PaMom, I'll keep your friend in my thoughts today.

As of about 1/2 hour ago, my friend's boy took his happy drugs and is getting ready to go in about an hour late. Which is about on time. :)

I'm keeping them both in my thoughts and prayers. May this be the most textbook, uneventful surgery ever! And may he have a swift recovery!

My friends' boy is out of surgery and doing fine. A little bit of pain and lots of scar tissue. She posted a picture on facebook 1/2 hour ago showing him playing a game. I take that to mean he is in good shape. :thumbsup2

That's great news! I hope his recovery is swift and uneventful. :cool1:

I was thinking the same thing. Kids are very resilient. I think surgery is harder on the parents than the kids sometimes.

Good morning everyone. Happy Father's Day to all the dads. My FIL died last night. Needless to say, not the best Father's Day.

I'm sorry for your loss, SadieDog. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

Thanks guys. My FIL's passing brings many mixed emotions. He barely had anything to do with my husband and his siblings. He even stopped going to the family Christmas gatherings about 4 years ago. We invited him and his gf to my daughter's grad party in 2009, but they did not attend. I guess that is not surprising since he would not attend my kids b-day parties. He is a stranger to my children, but he is very close to his girlfriends granddaughter and considers himself her grandfather. It's upsetting that he has had nothing to do with my kids, but chose to have a close relationship with his gf's granddaughter. It also does not help that he attends all this gf's family functions, but doesn't bother with his own family. My husband has been visiting them a lot the past few years and helping whenever they needed it. At least my husband won't feel guilty about not making an effort. He has been there for his dad the past few years even though his Dad has been a stranger all his adult life.
