Christi just tweeted this -

So they didn't show he REAL reason Chloe was crying? Abby screamed a millimeter from her face that she would "destroy her". Nice

WOW!
She's going to destroy a 10 year old kid? What a piece of garbage.
Shame on Christie for not going in there and removing her daughter from that situation immediately.

In fairness, this is NORMAL at dance competitions. My DD used to dance competitively and the moms of the girls on her team rarely, if ever, sat through the dances of other dancers. We would go in just before they were supposed to go on (staying in their designated dressing area until just before), and leave when they did (back to the dressing room). The vast, vast majority of the audience comes to watch THEIR dancers and that's it.

I do know a lot of moms that do that, I'm not one of them though. If I'm not back helping my DD with various things between numbers, I'm in the audience watching and when she is done or has a block of time, she watches too.

I suppose that's the difference between dance and cheer competitions. We always sat and watched every other group.

I watch the others!

In the case of the competitions that I've attended (DGD is a dancer) Moms will assist backstage in the case where a dancer needs a costume change. I.e., the dancer participates in a group dance and a solo. DGD competed this past weekend and was in 3 group routines and one solo. All in different costumes and with different hairstyles. She couldn't have done it herself--especially the hair part.

I'm not a fan of the TV show but I sure enjoy the live competitions. Some studios dress their dancers like they are in search of a pole as a prop:crazy2: and the difference in choreography between studios is interesting.

Exactly, I'm in the back to assist my DD when need be, otherwise, I'm out watching.

Oh yes, indeed...I've seen a TON of dances that are wildly inappropriate. At our last competition I saw a girl under 10 dancing like a stripper. It was not good.:sad2:

Did anyone else think the Candy Apples dance was better than ALDC's this week? I thought they should've won!

I agree. Right after they announced the awards, I said to my husband that they probably gave ALDC the win because Abby mad a fuss about the jacket and bribing on camera. They probably didn't want to be seen as crooked. I don't know if that's true but you never know. lol

I thought so too, but they never show the entire dance, so who knows? :confused3 Either they left out a big flub in the CA dance or, as PP said, they gave ALDC the win so as to squash any rumors of favoritism... which I'm sure is exactly why Abby called out the judge.

Their dance was indeed better. But the show is scripted. And the awards for the show may not be the actual awards for the competition. So in reality, the Apples could have actually won or some other group we never even saw could have actually won. In reality, they may have filmed Cathy giving that jacket to the judge and Abbey's complaint totally after the fact.

I used to really like Chloe, but Christi drives me up the wall so much that I'm dread Chloe getting a solo or duet/trio. If we could get Chloe without Christi, that'd be great. Unfortunately, I know that anytime Chloe gets a solo, Christi is going to complain to the camera. Either she is angry that Chloe is going up against Maddie or she is upset that Maddie doesn't have a solo and that is too much pressure on Chloe to win everything. If Chloe gets a duet or trio, she's either unhappy that Chloe didn't also get a solo or she is upset because Chloe does also have a solo and that's too much for her. It just seems that she is never happy.

And how Holly keeps her sanity around those nuts is beyond me.

Christi doesn't bother me that much. She's playing the part of the stereotypical dance mom that they want portrayed on the show. And her comments are frequently funny, which is probably why we see so many of her interviews. Melissa on the other hand drives me insane. She just comes off as so fake. I don't get the impression that she's playing a part for the show like I do with Christi and Jill. It's like she's deliberately trying to not show any personality or truth about herself and it just doesn't come off well. Even her live tweeting never actually includes any facts or commentary, it's all fakeness and fluff. I could be wrong, maybe she's a fabulous actress and that's what they want.

I thought it was in poor taste to put Kelly on the pyramid when that episode was the same week that Abby went to court to get a no contact order against Kelly. I know it's still a faked "reality" show, but rise above. Open your damn mouth and say you won't trash a woman on TV while you've got a court case against her.

I agree. Christi irritates me in what she is willing to put her daughter through. But she seems a bit more genuine than Melissa. I really can't STAND Melissa. That bit where she sent letters from her attorney to the other moms about discussing her "fiancé" was just weird. I always figured it was because she was still married to her other husband at the time. Did I just imagine that or was that really the case?

What? One of the dance moms divorced? I'm shocked. Shocked I tell ya!!!

I thought Melissa's fiancé was still married at the time and that's why she was so weird about it. I know on the show she claimed the attorney letter that the other moms got was from His attorney not from her.

I remember watching that show and thinking that I can't recall any time anyone has ever gotten such a weak letter with absolutely nothing behind it from an attorney.

Ah, that was it. Thanks! I knew it was something along those lines.

I thought it was funny he was ok being engaged while married, but it just wasn't ok talking about it. :rotfl:

I read somewhere that they are not allowed by contract to talk about certain people that have not agreed to be talked about. I think Big Brother has the same rule. I think that is why they got the lawyer letter. I wonder if some of the husbands must have the same rule since they don't talk about them either

The husbands are very smart then. I think most of the people associated with the show are going to regret it very much, if they don't already.

Kelly's terrible pic at the top of the pyramid will undoubtedly show up in the court case -- I know if I were her atty it would be Exhibit A in my demonstration of the treatment they dish out & why my client wanted & needed to be released from her contract. I did notice they showed Christi not laughing, but then made sure to cut to a shot of her in the mirror laughing == trying to leave the impression she laughed at the pic. The producers obviously think they're untouchable, although they are also definitely trolling online & using stuff being discussed in the show. This week they had Cathy doing the riff on the ALDC voices, last week Maddie face was referenced & they have toned down the Chloe bashing -- for now. They feel they have control of the other mothers but are afraid Christi is getting very good legal advice, which is why Abby made the comment about "then we'll know his name". I'm rooting for Kelly to win & hope Christi sets a trap & cashes in too.

Sadly, I think Melissa is my second favorite (or maybe it would be more appropriate to say third least favorite?). Holly is my favorite, no doubt. She is classy and ladylike. She puts her daughter first, but is able to do so without putting down any of the other girls, cussing, or yelling. She also always seems to be looking out for the girls. She was the one who made she all of the girls got out of the room when everything between Kelly and Abby went down. I have no doubt that Nia will grow to be a beautiful young woman who is confident in herself.

Christi is my least favorite, mostly for the reasons I already brought up. Also, I have heard her speak badly about Maddie more than any of the other mothers. We can argue about whether or not we like Maddie, but she is still a 9 year old child. No mother should speak badly of another 9 year old. I also really dislike how she always says that Melissa slept with her married boss. I don't know if she has or if she hasn't, but it is clearly something that deeply angers Melissa, that she vehemently denies, and that has no business being brought up in the first place. I just think Christi carries herself in the least ladylike manner of the other moms. Can't deny that she loves her daughter, though, and is trying to raise her the best way she knows how.

That leaves Melissa and Jill. Personally, I wouldn't want my daughter raised by either, but I think I like Melissa more just because she doesn't complain about how Abby treats her daughter and then continue to bring her back each day. I don't know. Really, Holly is the only one I'm not face palming throughout the episode.

I hate it when people get the ages of these dancers wrong. They've grown up a bit. Maddie is 11, soon to be 12. Chloe is 12, soon to be 13.

Yes, they are still young, but no longer "little girls" as the ages of 9 and 10 would suggest.

And I think those years have made a difference. I used to like Maddie. But now fast forward a couple years, I feel like she's starting to believe everything Abby says about her. It's been sad to watch that progression.
