DAN MURPHY’S 80th BIRTHDAY!

What can I say?

Thank you all for your good wishes and your thoughts. It is so nice to see all of you here on one of my milestone birthdays. I guess it is a milestone, haha, 40th anniversary of my 40th birthday. Each decade seems like a milestone, but this one really does. Next one, 90, really is up there.

Thank you, @Nora03, for starting this thread for me, and thank you, @PollyannaMom, for starting the one on the Birthday forum.

Natalie took Marie and me out for a very nice lunch/dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants. Marie's birthday is a few days before mine, July 17th. We spent about 2 hours jabbering after dinner, very nice.

I came by this little place on the Net when I was 55 years old. Seems like a lifetime ago, not only 25+ years ago. It's grown into me over the years, I have grown into it. I stayed because of the people here, you all. The community is more abbreviated than in the past, but still a place I enjoy stopping by at least once a day, generally more often. :surfweb:. And over the past year it has become more friendly and welcoming to its members, us.

Thank you again, all of you. Thank you for sharing in my birthday.
Happy Birthday Dan, from someone who is starting to scare the hell out of 80. I joined in Oct. of 2002 at the young age of 54. I have been very active and at times not very active over those 22 years. Your posts have always been interesting and informative. Let's hope we will both be here for your 90th.

Hey, Dan-Happy Birthday! I thought of you when I went to Mickey's Philharmonic last time (Remember, the "brand new show" last time we saw each other). Did you know that the yummy smelling apple pie is gone? Hope we run into each other at WDW some day again.

I was away for the weekend and missed the big celebration yesterday. Dan, Happy Birthday! You are truly the kindest man I have ever encountered. We're all richer for your presence here on the boards. Your family is really lucky to have you in real life!

Happy Birthday Dan!

(as you age gracefully and maybe lose a bit of your memory...Do NOT forget you still owe me a bagel)

Congratulations Dan you are a good person.

Adding another big thank you to those who have added their thoughts and good wishes here since I posted early yesterday. As I said earlier, I'm very appreciative of all your kind words.

And just two quick thoughts on past memories mentioned above.....

Thanks, Dorothy. We were with @PhotobearSam (Samantha) and her husband Richard. They treated both of us to breakfast at CRT before the Philharmonic. A fun morning for sure. The apple pie is gone? :(
Happy Birthday Dan!

I have not forgotten, Charlie, memory is still pretty good for an old guy. A bagel from Harmon Meadows Plaza Bagels Plus, right?

Here, correct? Hope all is well with you and family.

ETA....Hope to see you here on 9/11 as usual. I think we missed you last year.

I just saw this thread, although I did send my wishes on the birthday thread, on the appropriate day! I'll add more good birthday wishes here, and just say I 100% agree with everything everyone above has said. This place wouldn't be the same without you!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
