Damage to Cozumel?

To anyone who has been to Cozumel recently on the Western....was there any damage from the hurricanes that far west? I know that Grand Cayman was hit pretty hard, but my wife's doctor recently got back from a cruise to Cozumel and he said not to even get off of the boat due to the beaches being destroyed. I haven't heard that, is it true???? (Stay calm, I am not trying to cause a widespread panic among the DIS'ers, I would just love to hear someone completely refute this rumor).

i didnt think there was a hurricane that actually hit Cozumel, i thought they all bi-passed it. Am i wrong?

We were there in December. I didn't see any damage. Grand Cayman had a lot of damage

We have not been back to Cozumel since the hurricanes, but from what I've read, they were not touched. The hurricanes past to the East of them, right over the Caymans.

Cozumel is one of my all time favorites to dive! Awesome water, and so clear!! Dive if you can, snorkel if you don't!!

We were on the western cruise right after Frances in September,and nothing seemed damaged and the day was beautiful.We went shopping in the morning and take the Grand Fury Catamaran excusion in the afternoon and have a lot of fun.

The same apply to Costa Maya.
But we missed CC since the cruise was shorthened by two days.

We were on the "Hurricane Jeanne" shortened Western Cruise in late September - the one AFTER "Ivan the terrible" ripped through the Cayman Islands.

Cozumel was the highlight of our trip - we swam with the Dolphins at Channakaab Park and everything was wonderful. I had actually emailed Dolphin Discovery after "Ivan" went past and they told me that there was no damage at all to Cozumel. Upon arriving there, we certainly saw no evidence of any hurricane damage.

Great shopping for jewellery and check out the "Del Sol shop" while you are there - (We found out about DEL SOL on the ships TV shopping guide)

i also dived in cozomel!! sry bout spelling...but it was one of my frist dives and went down with a awesome instructor dude and had the time of my life..went thru caves and i loved the clear warm water
