This meme posted in the meme thread by LuvOrlando got me to thinking (hey, I’m in quarantine and bored). What is the highest or lowest daily or nightly temperature you’ve experienced?
For me the lowest was somewhere in the area of 15F/-9.4C the highest was 122F/50C.CFF20426-4F9E-481A-8A64-62F826FF21D3.jpeg

I don't think I could honestly answer this question. My Google-fu is failing me on finding the highest or lowest temperate ever in my city since my birth.

I think the hottest I've ever experienced was 108F/42C in Needles, CA during a road trip. My lowest ever temperature is somewhere below 0F but I can't say what exactly.

Edit: Lowest temp I think I ever experienced was -15F/-26C, and that was where I live. The highest local temp for me ever was 104F

It will tip a 100 (humid) here during the summer. And single digits in the winter. It's currently 54 and is supposed to get down to 4 tomorrow night. Highest and lowest though, prob 115 (phoenix) and -20 (in Colorado). But I would take 115 in Arizona any day over 100 in the midwest.

The highest temp was probably 106ishF in Vegas. It's weird because it really wasn't as bad as I'm used to. It regularly get's 90+ here in South Florida but the 90+ humidity is killer.

I was in Ohio once and it was 20F. That was probably the coldest I've been in.

People laugh at the “but it’s a dry heat” thing but it’s true!

40 below here in MI......years ago. Can't remember now if that was just windchill but whatever it was wayyyyyy cold. The house would actually make a "boom" sound once in awhile which was quite weird!

117 for a couple of days on our trip to Las Vegas in 2003.

all Fahrenheit

Checking in from Minneapolis. Probably about 107 F is the hottest. It was -60 F in February 1996.
Yup, this is about right, but we have been where it was a bit hotter, probably 112.
my dd was born in January 1996, it was in the 40's that day, then the bottom fell out.

June 26, 1990, 122 degrees in AZ. My car couldn't take the heat, had to have my Dad come pick me up and help get it towed.

Coldest: -19 degrees in February 1993 in Michigan before the windchill. Had to walk to my college class through what we called "the tundra" no buildings to block the wind. I felt like I was going to die.

Per Google, -43 (real temp not with windchill) in 2004. The hottest temp I found since I was alive was 105 degrees in 1988 but it was 103 this past summer. Needless to say, we have quite the temperature range here.

It was last summer at 122F or so degrees. Yuck!
When I lived in Northern Alberta, we had the -40s and a bit colder depending on where I was every winter.
I will take the cold anytime over the heat!

The hottest temp I have experienced was 108F while visiting Dallas in July. This was at 8pm and we were sitting at an outdoor park about to see a Shakespeare play. It was like sitting inside an oven, even though it was almost dark. I am sure it was somewhat hotter during the day, but I was lounging in a pool then and didn't notice it. lol

I have experienced the -20F range quite a few times. The worst one was January 1982 in Chicago when the wind chill got down to -80F. I lived one building off Lake Michigan on the 10th floor of an apartment building. I knew I was in trouble when my many house plants just croaked inside my place, and my shampoo bottles on the bathroom sill froze solid. I called a friend who lived about 5-6 miles inland from where I was and said "I am coming over to stay the weekend with you. After the plants and the shampoo, I am going to be the next thing to freeze in this apartment!"

Right now it's 2F, but it went down to -4F overnight. One day last week our high was -8F, before the wind chill. I can't put a date to it but I know one winter the temp was down to -15F, before the wind chill.

Highest temp I think I've experienced was around 102F one August on a Disney World Trip- but it sure felt hotter due to the heat index. Fortunately this was the longest trip we've ever taken so we didn't feel bad if we only spent a few hours each day in the parks. I felt bad for those on the "once in a lifetime" trip going from rope drop til park closing!

ETA- I posted the above a couple of days ago. Right now, it's -12 out, and with the wind chill it's -21F. I'm awake right now because I got cold; it's 55F in my old house, even with the thermostat set to 60. I'm not going outside to see what it feels like.

On vacation in Myrtle Beach it was upper 90's all week long, but was glorious out because it was only 20% humidity. We left miserable soaking wet 67° air for dry 97° air, much better. Then the last day I caught the news and said the humidity was coming today and all we were doing was taking our final walk on the beach and getting in the car. Got home to daytime temps of 70° with 98% humidity. The 97 and 20% was so much better.

Hottest and coldest is pretty easy for me as they are far more extreme than what is normal. Coldest was a weird 3 day period a few years ago when it was -33F. Hot is easy because it's at work. In the summers I've seen 117°, also with maximum humidity as it's a steam molding plant. Outside in the environment I think would be driving home from Ocean City vacation in a car with no air conditioning at 110°.
