Hi - I know this is only guess work at the moment until people actually start eating at T-Rex using the DDP.

But my family are obsessed with the TRex cafe and we can't plan a trip without at least going there once!! Now with the introduction of TRex to the DDP we are seriously considering adding the plan to our next trip in October.

But... and its a rather weird but...:lmao:....

My two young boys absolutely LOVE the Chocolate Extinction dessert.;)

Do you think (as a family of 4) we would be able to order this between us on the DDP as our dessert?

It may seem a small thing, but realistically the DDP will only be worth it to us if we can go to TRex a couple of times, and I'm sure the only dessert any of us will want will be that!!!

What are your guesses?? Will they let us have it??:thumbsup2

I am not sure but I wouldnt think so. But there is always the possibility. I know at the GF cafe, the dessert sampler is counted as 2 adult servings

Probably not, based on the way multi-serving items like the Kitchen Sink sundae (totally excluded from the dining plan) are generally treated on the dining plan. In general where they allow combining credits for these items, children's credits cannot be used. But there won't be any way to know for sure until reports come back from T-Rex.

Thank you both for such quick replies:thumbsup2

I guess I will hold off booking the plan until we get some reports back. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

or you could pay oop for the dessert. (I know I know...kind of defeats the purpose of the ddp)

I'll know 2 weeks from today :yay:

OOh thats exciting!! Would you mind posting back to let me know if they will let you order it on the DDP please?:lovestruc

I know.. I am already struggling to justify paying for the DDP (I think we will break even on TS/CS and will be getting the snacks as a free 'extra' - but that is having one TS meal that we probably wouldnt have done if we weren't on the DDP), so if I also start paying OOP for bits then I really can't see it being worth our while doing it.

Having said that, I did enjoy being on the DDP last time as having pre-paid for our food, it kind of felt like we were getting it for free when we got there - I know, I know I am a bit crazy!!!:lmao:

I am pretty sure I read that dessert would cost 4 adult ddp credits. Why would you not buy the ddp over one restaurants dessert? You could pay for it OOP and you and your wife could pick something else for dessert inclusive on the dessert menu. Or, you could all share the dessert oop and just lose the desserts inclusive. It seems you are basing your choice to buying the ddp on one restaurants dessert. What will be your dining plans if you are not on the ddp? It seems to me, when on the ddp I am ahead even when paying for it.. But, I guess that is an individual thing. We are a family of five, me, dh, ds18, ds10, dd8. Lunch at one of our favorites wolfgang pucks express in dtd cost us upwards of $100 so the ddp is a good value for us. This year we were able to secure free regular dining so it was a no brainer. But, maybe just go to allearsnet, look at the different menus/eateries your family would enjoy and price out what you all would eat and see if the value is worth it. Good luck, on whatever you decide!

I know for sure you need 4 adult credits for that dessert. They also have 2 people desserts that require 2 adult credits.

This is also true for the apps that are for 2 or 4. (It'll say on the menu which for 2 people, etc.)

I say pay OOP.

TREX on the meal plan ROCKS because you can get smoothies and limeade drinks for your drink AND you can get crazy huge entrees and feel like a king! Example: they have a chicken entree and they have a ribs entree. They ALSO have a chicken AND ribs entree. If you're on the meal plan, you can get BOTH for the the same entree credit.

Just love the variety of that place. Though the noise is crazy! :mic:

Hello. We dined at TRex in March 2012 and got the chocolate extinction desert as part of the dining plan. We were 2adults and 2 children.
