This summer I'm planning a WDW trip for my parents, my two bros, and DH and myself back to WDW. We all went last in 2002, plus my great aunt and her friend. We stayed in AS-Sports and it went pretty well despite the rain and trying to see who our great aunt would walk around with for the day....don't get me wrong, we love her, but she didn't do many attractions and didn't care for the heat...even though she's been there before and wanted to go back :confused3 Anyway, I booked the airfare and POFQ in January. I told ma and pa when we were going and where...DH and I stayed at POFQ last summer so they've seen the pictures a million times. Now that both my parents have retired and returned from AZ, we started talking about the WDW trip, since DH, my bros, and I can hardly wait. No flaming on this next part, please....My mom says, "Oh, don't let me forget to bring our All Star mugs to use again. Oh wait, well, I can get a new mug, right? From the new resort?" And Dad says, "You can't just take any old mugs to hotels and expect to get free refills." And DH (not me ;) ) explains how SOME people take their mugs back and reuse them even though it clearly says not to and you're not supposed to...yadda, yadda. And Dad says, "Well, where are we staying? You mean all Orlando hotels let you do that?" And DH says, "No, only Disney ones." To which Dad replies, "Oh, so where are we staying then." To which I politely remind, "At WDW, at the POFQ, in French Quarter theme...where DH and I stayed last summer?" Then the light bulb goes up over Dad's head, "OOOOHHHHH. So each hotel has mugs you can buy and use there? The hotel we're staying at has a cafeteria with all the food like the last time we went to Disney?" DING DING DING! Again, no matter that we've told him this a hundred times and he's seen all the mugs from the resorts we've been to. Ah, the family fun (dys-FUN-ction?) has started. I know he'll love the resort because he loves just
to wander off on walking paths and find new areas to look at and report back on. Bet he'll end up over at RS on one of the first days and come back and say, "Hey, did you guys know there is a mill and plantations about 10 minutes down the path? I think it might be another hotel. I got a great bag of jellybeans at the candy shop and talked to a nice couple from Iowa on my way back."

But we are getting mom to go on RnR and ToT this time....she doesn't have Aunt Betty to wait with as her excuse. :smooth:

Thanks for reading! All other cute parent stories welcome! I'm sure I'll have more to report in the coming weeks.
