Alan, if i recall we had a discussion like this a while back...don't you think it's a natural progression toward wanting to learn the technicalities in their own time? if i recall the other thread right most of the dad's were "teach them the techniques" and most of the moms were "let them explore their creativity first"

I missed that, but basically would agree that there is no point in overdoing the technicalities. If she's interested she'll get to them when she's good and ready...

seriously though, you can read anytime, on the other hand, the quality time you spend with your daughter is priceless and ALWAYS a much better way to spend your time

What a fantastic thing for you two to have in common - I hope this interest of her keeps growing and you two have this special bond forever.

I am hoping - really hoping that Emily may take up the interest. I let her use my XTi when we were at Disney and she got a few good shots - and a few (mostly of me and my backside) that had me shaking my head wondering if they are retalliation shots for those baby photos of her.

Enjoy those precious moments - I know you do.

When I have kids I will gladly give them DSLRs if they will be as interested in using it as your daughter. That rocks!
