DA VINCI CODE and MICKEY MOUSE!!!!

Last night DH & I saw the Da Vinci Code and not knowing anything about the movie or Robert Langdon or Dan Brown for that matter...was I so surprised to see Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) wearing a MICKEY MOUSE watch in the movie.

They actually zoomed in on it twice as he was watching his watch and the time!! I chuckled to myself and thought of all of you on the DIS Board's !!!

My son who is totally into Dan Brown and read all his books years ago...said to me just tonight that Robert Langdon LOVES Mickey Mouse. In the book Angels and Demons, his Mickey Mouse watch actually saved his life. My son also said that Dan Brown loves Disney World...hahaha!!! NEAT...HUH....

Yep, Robert Langdon's Mickey Mouse watch is sort of like his trademark. Indiana Jones has his whip, Robert has Mickey! Go figure!!! I loved finding that tidbit out when I read Angels & Demons and was glad to see they picked up on it in the movie!

They even mentioned in the book, the watch, and Walt Disney.

OMG....I THOUGHT THAT EXACTLY...but I figured this is crazy...first I see the Mickey Mouse watch and I am watching this intense movie and then Sophie's cut is so looking so much like a "hidden Mickey"....ahhh!! Too funny!!!!

In the book, Brown has Walt Disney being a Freemason, protector of the "holy grail" secret and that he passed the lore down thru his cartoons and drawings. It only makes sense that he would have his protaginist wear a Mickey watch. I don't know if it is true, just a tidbit from the book.

As I recall, Brown noted in "The Little Mermaid" Ariel is sitting in front of a famous painting of the Virgin Mary (I think). I found the frame on the DVD. I thought it was interesting.

My husband wanted to get the Little Mermaid movie so we could go check it out after he read the book.

I thought it was interesting that Harry Potter was also mentioned in the book.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Brown includes some Disney lore in his next book, if it's true that Walt was a Mason. Dan's next Robert Langdon novel will center around the Freemasons and their history right here in the good ol' USofA.
