Didn't know if this was the proper forum for this, but couldn't find one that fit "just right". Thought this thread was appropriate for Dis though. . .

Hello. . .my name is Lesley and I am a Disney A'Holic. If this club actually existed I think my family would personally drive me to the meetings. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking of upcoming trips, rooms locations, dining preferences, and ADR's. The minute we leave the World I am busy planning our next trip back. I live for the Mouse. I will talk to anyone who will listen about itinerary planning, restaraunts at Disney, Disney resorts, anything that feeds into my obsession. Usually right as I am busy telling people about Disney my cell phone goes off with the "Bippedy Boppedy Boo" ring and they just shake their heads and smile, sad but true. I just wanted to start this thread for those of us out there with that obsession. Alcoholics have AA, drug addicts have their many support groups, I don't want detox by any means, just an outlet ;) to discuss my obsession with those who truly understand :goodvibes . So for all of you other Disney A'Holics out there, join me!!!

Hello my name is Diane and I too am a Disney aholic.
I am obsessed but is that really a bad thing?
The only time it bugs my family is when things do not go as planned and I get upset.
I love sharing ideas on the boards. It is funny I came here looking for some advice before a trip and kept lurking worried about the wisdom of sharing information with total strangers before I finally joined.
Now I log on when I get up. Check for new messages while we watch tv and again before bed.
I am not really looking to rehabilitate more to validate my obsession.
It isnt even just planning trips.I am making Disney Easter baskets and have decorated DD room in Tink. I shop at the Dis store in mall and online.
You are a great bunch of people and I enjoy chatting with you. :wizard:

Welcome Snowwhite, consider your obsession validated. I think that is what all of us are looking for. My obsession goes beyond Disney trips as well, as I think most of us will confess we shop Disney, decorate Disney, dress Disney!

Is there somewhere I can get the lifetime membership?? I think I'm going to need it!! :goodvibes Disney!! Disney!! Whooo Rahhhh!!

(should change my name to DA dropout....couldn't make it past the first step!) :lmao:

I too admit it...I am a DA! I live & breathe Disney and I am not happy unless I have another trip to look forward too! One question....does DA have a family discount?! :rolleyes2 These boards sometimes take over our lives :rolleyes1

Take over our lives? You mean like sitting here when I am supposed to be in the car driving right now? I have no idea what you mean (hee-hee) :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

since i started planning our trip a few months back i also feel like i might have the "symptoms" of being a disney aholic, having just spent the 3rd night in the row up all night reading disney guide books only to stop and check the chat boards, this thread just might be the perfect thing for me so i too am joining DA

AMEN!!! Thats about all I can say. I come to this boards to get my fix sometimes. Our friends don't get it, and I ask them "why do you go to the Ozarks every summer?" Thats why I go to WDW every year!
My name is Vicki and I am a Disney aholic also. Just here for validation!
I love to come to the boards, we even shared a Illuminations cruise with someone off the boards. They were wonderful, we had a great time!
Again my friends said "But you don't even know them". I knew they had to be like me to be on these boards, so I was not worried! I was right! :grouphug:

:rotfl2: HILARIOUS!!!! Me too!!! This will be my first trip in about 14 years, my dh, and ds's first time ever. I am so excited even more so for them. But I have my phone ring to "Bippedy Boppedy Boo". Dh just shakes his head everytime it goes off :sad2:

I wouldn't say I need Disney annonymous yet but now that school is out. This will be the only thing on my mind till our trip in June!!!! :cloud9:

I'm always afraid that this will pop up one day while surfing....and that I will answer honestly. :rolleyes1

Hello, my name is Cheryl. I am a Disneyholic.

It is a curse (though some of you might say it's a blessing.) My friends and family members (the ones I don't go to Disney with) don't even ask me where I'm going on vacation anymore. Their only question is "when are you going?".

I'd like to end this addiction, but I've not even tried. They say the first step to conquering a problem is to admit you have one. I can't admit it. I WON'T ADMIT IT!!!

So here I sit. I don't have a date yet, just a month..... August. It's ALWAYS August. I can feel the Mickey Bar in my hand. I can feel that sweet, rich ice cream running down my hand because I've not yet finished it yet, and it IS August.

I'm waiting in line for "Millionaire." Can I push those buttons fast enough???

Can I get over my continued dismay with the jerk who decided to get rid of Hunchback? I'm trying, but it's not easy. We're supposed to forgive.

Oh, someone, PLEASE STOP ME!!!.

I know you all understand. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My name says it all!!! I have liked Disney for as far back as I can remember. When my 22 yr. old DS was a baby, I had pictures of Donald and Mickey in his room. There is Disney(mostly Mickey) in every room in the house, except the bathrooms. My DS, even though he calls me a freak,(loving of course) has Monster,Inc items in his room. Christmas time, my house is 99% Disney. It use to be 100%, but my DS complained that I wasn't using the ornaments he made me in school.
When anyone comments about how obsessed I am, I say "Hey it doesn't make me a bad person" ;)

Sign me up as a DA. Thursday night I had a dream that it was April & we were in WDW. My Dsis asked me what time was our ADR & at what restaurant-I looked in my bag for my ADR list & it was gone! So was my backup list & I couldn't remember any of the details!!!! My family just stood there looking at me shaking their heads - it seemed so real I woke up all upset! :confused3 I'm now going to keep a third list of ADRs (just in case).
Obsessed? nah :rolleyes1

:wizard: Hello, my name is Isabel and my family has been begging me to join a group like this for years :rotfl2: !!! Although I don't see that any of us have a problem, we just love  our happy place!!!! I went for a girls weekend in January, we will back in June for a week, August in Disneyland and November we will be there for a Thanksgiving!! I would also like to sneak a weekend in April for the F &G festival and October for MNSSHP!! I don't think we have a problem :wizard: !!!!!!

Hello. :yay: Mind if I join you? :grouphug: I got addicted about 2 years ago while planning our first family vacation to the Mouse. I caught the magic, fell face down in the pixie dust, and haven't recovered since. :faint:

Not that I want to. :earsgirl:

Pass the Mickey Bar. :mickeybar

Thank you Leslie for stepping out and addressing this issue. For the love of heavan, I can't get enough disney and since we committed to a vacation in June I can't get enough DIS. Honestly, I wish I was as diligent with Weight Watchers and as faithful to the bible as I am to reading these boards!

Amen!!! If I could be as faithful to my diet as I am to Dis I would be AMAZING! I do feel guilty spending more time reading DIS than the bible anymore, sad isn't it. When are you going in June - we'll be there then too. I have my poncho's and spray fans ready, June can't get here fast enough for us!
