D23 surprises

Oh thanks Tom and Skip for ruining the D23 surprise for those who haven't recieved their box yet.......

I guess I don't need to open the box when it arrives....

A major issue with D23 is that most of the member events sell out in seconds! Its almost impossible to obtain tickets for most of the events, except the expo. I attempted to buy tickets for the Christmas event at WDW, within 15 seconds the event had sold out.

I joined D23 when it first came out but never renewed. To me it seemed like Disney was trying to make it into a VIP elitist club for Disneyland visitors. They definitely treated WDW visitors like the unwashed masses.

Part of the elitist attitude was the scarcity of tickets for events. By allowing only a few of the few that join, it's creating it's own demand, or at least thats what it seems they are attempting.
