For those who have attended in the past, do you think I would have enough time to hit the Dream Store Friday morning and be finished in time to have a decent seat for the animation panel? I'm planning on getting in line around 5-5:30 and a Gold Member. My goal would to be in line for Animation before the Legends panel ends.
I do not know how much time will need at the Dream Store but based on 2015 if you get line for Animation by 11AM that is plenty of time to have a decent seat. Noon would also likely be plenty of time.

Thanks for the info! I'm considering including the Animation panel in my plans on Friday, depends on how much shopping I get done in the morning and if I manage to score a StorePass as well. I keep hearing that John Lasseter knows how to hold a panel!

I don't think anyone can give you an accurate answer right now because the morning entry will be different this year. In past years, there was a separate line for D23 gold members, but this year everyone will be in one huge line together. How this will affect the wait time and initial entry time is anyone's guess at this point. As is true with Expo in general, when in doubt, lining up earlier is safer than later.

Thanks so much!

Quick question I was hoping someone here might be able to help me out with. First time going to going to the Expo it will be me and my son we are super excited! We will be staying with family in Carlsbad and driving up each day. My question is where to park if we arrive before 530 am to get into line. The D23 site says parking doesn't open till 530 so i thought some area experts might have some suggestions. Thanks!

You'd probably have to risk street parking. I don't know where else in the area you could park before 5:30. None of the parks lots will be open. Just make sure you watch for permit areas.

Maybe you could park at Denny's or IHOP on Harbor to grab a quick bite to eat before the lots open?

So there's been a ton of discussion about when to line up friday and saturday, but I'm curious about Sunday? If you haven't seen they announced that they'll be releasing RESCUE RANGERS tsum tsums on Sunday morning, and we have to have them!! I read that there is no overnight for the expo on saturday night for sunday. I'm skeptical however if we were to show up at 6am would we really get anywhere near the front of the line?? When would others line up if there's no official overnight?

Also related/unrelated, but what are people's experience with how many of an LE item they will let you purchase? I'd like to get 4, 1 for myself and 3 for friends, but not sure what the body to merch ratio allowed usually is.

Thanks!
Rebecca

People will not be allowed to line up on Sunday morning until 6am. You can try to line up before that but it will be an unofficial line. Sunday has historically been the least busiest day of the weekend.

Each store & line of merchandise has different restrictions with LE merchandise, you will likely have to contact the vendor directly if it's not stated on a website.

I've been thinking about this too. I don't want the LE merchandise, but I do want to see a panel that is starting at 10 that day and don't want to miss it because we are waiting outside.

Yeah, and they're not allowed to line up before 10pm the other days but they will. The lines will just be outside instead of inside, but people will definitely be lining up before 6am.

Now having seen that the parking lots don't open until 5:30am, I'm debating what to do to get there early on Saturday morning. I had planned on getting there around 2/3am but I have no idea where i'd park my car. Maybe just Uber it all the way there?

My hotel's a 25-minute walk to the convention center, but I'm still planning to take a Lyft to conserve my limited early morning energy. Hopefully, not everyone has the same idea, triggering surge pricing in the wee hours on Saturday.

Oh great my idea of getting shoping done Thursday just got blown. Do I really need more tsum tsum hmmm.

I'm sorry guys to repeat questions from other people, but does anyone have the link to panels that don't allow recording? I can't find it.

Got everything packed on my list for the D23 trip(tickets, snacks, etc) which we started today so we could get a few extra park days. 3/4 of the way down from our 7 hour drive, I realize that I forgot my wallet containing my season pass(can still go into the parks with the app just can't get fast passes), my ID and my D23 gold card...

This link on the D23 website mentions the two main panels where recording is not permitted, I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for? It is not complete - in going through the app, I found several other panels where there was a notation in the description about no recording & phones needing to be checked, such as the Power of the Princess panel on Saturday.

Ouch. You could probably get a reprint of your AP. Or if someone has access to your house have them take a photo of the back of your AP and then you can grab fast passes that way by scanning the back of the AP when asked for it.

Oh no! Can you print something off at your hotel to get your D23 gold card info confirmation? I saw it somewhere but cannot find it right now.
