I’ve been thinking about it, and I can see how a “storytelling theme” works with a lot of what’s already in spaceship earth. The cavemen, the Greek scene, the renaissance telling stories through art.

What I really want is a well made finale to it that isn’t touchscreen nonsense. To show where storytelling is going into the future maybe

The Greek scene can go back to being "the theater was born"!

Well, I rejoined D23 about a year ago. I had been thinking about going this year but wow, was I underwhelmed and I’m glad I didn’t go.

I had heard all the rumors about Brazil but I never heard who was going to sponsor it. Yeah, it would be nice to have representation from South America but Disney has always looked for the country itself or businesses in the country to kick in a lot of money to pay for construction. There is no way they delayed announcing it because of the fires. Every Panel was scripted, scored, rehearsed many times for several months, technical rehearsals done, dress rehearsals held and then it’s put on. It would be really hard to cut a piece of the show at the last minute. We’ll get a new addition to World Showcase when Disney has signed sponsorship contracts. I imagine today they would be looking at upwards of $40m to $50m.

Everything was pretty much updates and that’s it except Mary Poppins.
The “new” EPCOT is the first change I don’t think Walt would agree with. It deviates way too much from the Future World concept.

I remember hearing about how Card Walker got upset with a reporter when asked “Where’s EPCOT?” before it was built. He said it’s all over, every single thing we do is “EPCOT”. The public wasn’t buying it. They have been walking back Walt’s vision for years. Bob Chapek isn’t the first one to do this.

I think that Disney is tired of having to come up with new ideas every year for EPCOT especially when it takes 3 to 4 years to build a new attraction. Before they ever even open an attraction it was practically outdated. So they just changed Walt’s vision and we have what we heard this weekend.

Walt's vision wasn't what we got in EPCOT Center anyway...he wanted a city of the future, not a theme park.

Wait...EPCOT isn't an actual city? I thought all those foreign cast members lived there in the upstairs of those buildings... You've shattered all of my memories of World Showcase... :lmao: 🤪 😂

I'm just saying this because a lot of people don't know the actual history of EPCOT as it existed in Walt's mind

Just trying to have some fun my man - I totally appreciate that you pointed that out. I understand the defensive reaction since the DIS is sometimes full of internet tough guys. I just like to have a good laugh and keep it light :D 👍

I've been at the expo all weekend and am just now going through this thread, have caught up to just before today's parks panel which is page 35.

My favorite part of the movies panel was the Frozen cast signing to end the panel, which was just awesome.

Tax is added based on where you live. Where I am there is no tax on streaming services so I paid $140.97. A friend of mine that lives in Florida paid almost $160.

Does anyone know how or where to sign up for it? I can't find it anywhere.
Not sure if someone responded with the link that was on the business cards they handed out (I did
Really? Oh, never mind then. I was just listening to a podcast yesterday (it was like a week old) where they mentioned the password sharing restrictions. Guess they had bad info.
It' s 4 concurrent streams, up to 7 profiles, and 10 devices with unlimited offline downloading o
Many panels always are because they show exclusive footage they don't want out in the public yet.
Yup, we got to watch about 8 minutes of footage from Onward so it was understandable why our stuff was in sealed bags.
Journalists can post general public had their phones taken away.
They weren't taken away we had to put them in sealed bags. Approved media were given a specific wristband so security could easily identify them.
