D23 Expo 2011! Who's attending?

Wow..that sounds so FUN!
OK, I just dug out my Guidebook from the first Expo. Sunday night went until 11:00 PM with the US Premiers of Toy Story 2 & 3 in 3D.
Before that was a Toy Story 3 presentaion at the WD Studios Theater
The latest event on Sunday for the Storytellers Theater was 3- 4:30 pm: Imagineering Pixar for the Disney Parks, Stage 23 final event was 3:30 - 4:00 pm...From Annette to Miley: How Disney Pop Changed the World and the final Arena Presentation was from 2- 4PM Disney Channel cast of Wizard's of Waverly Place.
I made the mistake of having to leave around noon on Sunday and had to leave right in the middle of John Lasseter, which was a HUGE regret and I won't do that again.
Remember, too, that the first Expo was 4 days and this time it's only 3, so the schedule could be much more jam packed.

Thanks for posting this schedule. Luckily we figured we'd want to make sure we didn't miss anything on Sunday so we're leaving on Monday. Good to know we need to plan on some late nights.

WoWP would be cool. Maybe Suite Life on Deck too. From the ABC shows we'd love to see the cast of Castle, The Middle, Modern Family, No Ordinary Family and/or Cougar Town.

Ohh... Castle cast - they get my vote. I've been a Nathan Fillian fan since Firefly.

Bring on the Modern Family cast..they are all great.

So in a couple days, I will be heading off to the Destination-D Event.

Here is a link to my TR that I will try to keep up as LIVE as I can during the event.

If the Castle cast is there I will seriously freak out!

Just decided today that I am GOING! I've been posting in the Disneyland forum like a mad woman. Can't wait for the Expo to let the Disney freak flag fly :rotfl:

Anyone have any idea when they will post the schedule for this year? The planning freak in me is dying to start planning my days at Disneyland, but I would like to try out for the trivia contest, which starts a day early on August 18.... must... resist... urge...to...plan

I'm booked - seven night stay in the Disneyland area, arriving late on Sunday 14th Aug and spending a few days at DL (my first time!) and might even fly up to SF for a day to see the Walt Disney Family Museum, and then the D23 Expo.

From last time's experiences of when the event ended, would I be OK booking a red-eye flight out of LA at around 10.30pm on the Sunday night (I'm flying back to meet the rest of the family at WDW) or would I miss anything much? I'm assuming it'll all be finished by around 7pm and I could head straight for the airport then. And would it be best to book my connecting flight to WDW soon, or do prices tend to drop closer to the date?

Andre

I was just about to do a search for a thread like this and it popped up on the first page :worship: I was just telling hubby I wanted to go this year. We're locals so won't bother staying on property that week. We've never gone and all of a sudden it sounded fun to me. But here's a question- do I plan on buying the kids tickets? I'm worried they'll get bored

Hi lapdwife - here is a link to a podcast allll about 2009's Expo: http://www.wdwradio.com/2009/09/show-137-september-20-2009/

Listening to this show is what made me decide to go to the Expo - even if I have to show up solo! The show is a bit rambling, but they do talk about kids being there and one of the podcasters also says she wishes she would have brought her kids.

I was just poking around the Expo site and noticed that they have added a few things that weren't there a month or two ago. As of 5.26.11 they posted new information about the Treasures of Walt Disney Archives Exhibit, and some information on the show floor.

Hopefully a schedule will be posting soon! Ticket prices go up July 1, so let's hope they have something by then!

Due to rising airfare prices, we have decided not to attend. We live in NJ and the fare is $500+ each. We have already pre-purchased the base convention tickets, and they are non-refundable. It will be OK. We are WDW regulars, and have trips planned for Sept and Dec, 2011. We are former Disneyana Conventioneers and miss the convention atmosphere.

According to a post at the D23 Expo Facebook site, someone has already received their tickets in the mail. Hopefully, with tickets going out, Expo info should start flowing in soon!
